That would be scary if WKXI/WQXI-FM (94.1), WPCH, WKLS, WSB-FM, WLTA, and WBIE were all BM at the same time. And then add WGKA-FM (92.9) to WABE playing classical. Not sure if the timelines would all match up but that's a lot of soft instrumentals on the FM dial at one time if they did. No wonder a lot of people speak of the pre-96 Rock WPLO-FM in such reverent tones...it being the lone exception to BM/classical on FM (they were AOR before they were country, which is what they were before the V-103 flip).the magpie said:Jim Rich said:Actually WKLS started out as a beautiful music station. Don Kennedy ran it..studios, xmitter and antenna atop Black Jack Mountain in Marietta.
WBIE (the FM101.5) was also a beautiful music station.
Of course, most people at the time were getting their top 40 from the AM dial--WSB-AM, Quixie, not to mention WFOM, et al.
