Atlanta's Getting Wild

I never fully understood how L.A. and Miami (Power 96) were always successful at breaking new music. Same with San Fransisco as well, and I'm sure I'm probably missing other larger markets as well. I also wonder, in somewhat of an unrelated note, why did Dj Class "have to" recently come all the way to Phoenix to find a radio station mix show time slot? Not that I'm complaining, but... were there no stations in Atl that are acceptive of his style and sound? As far as I knew, Dj Class lived and produced in Atlanta.

At one point of time I heard him doing V103 Frank & Wanda Morning Show's 7am Wakeup Workout mix when it was on Monday through Friday. He also did nightclub gigs at various black gay spots, but i remember him using the handle "DJ Danny Class"

Atlanta is a very these "unique" market where it are usually late to catch on to hit songs from established artists, but will set the trend with new artists. NYC, L.A., DC, Chicago, and San Francisco used to be this because of the old WQHT, KKBT, WPGC, WGCI, and KMEL because their music spontaneity, but that has since changed since they have all shifted to straight urban, lost prominence, or now defunct. Major urban & rhythmic crossover stations have practically set the trends in modern urban music.

Miami is a toss-up because WPOW does still does this, but WEDR dominates by default.
