AUCTION IN RUTLAND?

I happen to enjoy the discussion on this and other boards and happend to hear a couple of Rutland radio stations advertising an "auction"...what is going on wit that? Can a radio station do a live 'auction'?? I frequent many an auction, sounds like fun to listen to!

I wonder who they are using for the auctioneer. Anyone know?

Can't wait to bid!

yes, it's a big time event I hear on the heritage station Mixx 98.1!! exciting stuff! a first time event in the area. All are welcome to bid. I hear they are using all their big time personalities as the auctioners, you know the BIG GUNS. FYI, anyone who responds to this post with any hostility is jealous of the Pamal Rutland cluster :-* No negative comments needed on this board. A good bunch they are ;)

Mr. Marbles...you must be new tothe area...or you turn on your radio. Years ago, WSYB used to do "Big Mike's Action Auctoin" twice a year to great success. Big Mike did a great job. I guess he was unavailable for this one.

Ask someone Professor...or is no one still talking to you there? Big Mike runs radio auctions all over the country...top notch auctioneer...

What does he have over guys who have been in the biz for 30+ years. I've never heard of him, he can't be that great......

Oh yes. I remember Big Mike. I remember the Action Auction!!!! That was really great! No Big Mike? Who is running the auction? I know some auctioneers in this state that would like to know if the the "big time" auctioneers carry a license for Vermont. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there are laws on the books for this, being a farm state and all. YOU CAN BE FINED I THINK!!! I'll check it out.

Big Mike's Action Auction is the real deal and done right.. This one should prove as interesting and 'structured' as the car giveaway.. I'll listen for the entertainment, and possible deals.

Hey Mahhhhbleesss. Here's a free tip of the day that may actually help out your version of the copywrited "Action Auction".. Why don't you give listeners a reason to actually look at your websites, and put a list of stuff up there so us bahhgain hunters can get an idea of what's being sold.

Ooooh. Good idea, Kracko! Um, but do you think they'll have stuff they don't know what to do with, ala sportscar giveaway?

IE: Post a pic for something to be auctioned only to never make it to air for whatever reason?

There are several veterans at Pamal Rutland from the CC / Excalibur side that know what desirable goods will make this interesting version of the copywrighted Action Auction fly. It's a pretty black and white formula. I'll want to hear it, since I've bought tons of good stuff on these things at great bargains in years past when, "Big Mike" , the true pro at this was doing running them. Kracko likes a bargain. Wonder if anyone there will yell out, "Oiiilllllll Change" and will the "Dudley Do-Right " theme music be used between the breaks..

There's actually a list of stuff on the Cat Country website, nothing on the JJR site though.

I have never heard of any auctions but I have heard of north country trader on kix 105.5

Yes there is Oz. However, that is small time compared to this. This is an auction on the top station in the market,Mixx 98.1 (you must be familiar with it). Lots of great auction items, it's going to be Superb. Make sure to tune in this Sat. ;)

Is is just on JJR, or is it going to be on simultcasted on WSYB and Cat Country as well ? Havn;t heard anything onto where to listen or seen any visuals on the website.. Thanks Mahhhbles.

What an odd promotional concept.

List the wares on your country station, but have the actual auction on your MIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX station (I know Marbles likes X's).

A reasonable person would conclude they would simulcast this event, but why bother when the only station that matters apparently is MIXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX? (And the guy obviously in charge of it all could give a rat's ass less about any other station.)
