I use Mixcraft (Acoustica). I love it!
I tried Cool Edit Pro. I had a problem with it recording at the wrong speed. It sounded as though I was recording a vinyl record on the wrong speed, which I wasn't doing at all.
I contacted tech support who told me "No ones ever had that problem before, so we can't help you."
Needless to say I got rid of it posthaste.
Mixcraft is great for what I need.
