I found a lovely Optimod 8100 A with XT2 and it was serviced last year and sounds amazing. I found with the newer processors although they give more attention to detail there is sometimes almost too much detail going on. When I listened to the music it just felt right on the Optimod. The other night the current Number one station was doing their dance show and a few others and myself were at the ready to test our latest buy! As they were counting down the 10 ten Dance tracks, we also were ready. When number one came about we played the same track just a few seconds later. Although you heard a lot of detail in the background, we had the edge on the overall warmth and if felt as if our audio was playing it the way it was meant to be played and it did and more when what we hoped for! I felt with the 8100, I knew why people after nearly 30 year still hold that unit as the turning point in Audio History and Its nice to own a little bit of the history. I’m sure I could have spent the whole 6000 and gotten more audio but we are more than happy with our lot and it suits our music format down to the ground!
Thanks again for your views and expertise J
