I think one of the biggest things to note is the increasingly poor performance of the Clear Channel stations. KASE, a station that spent most of the 80's and 90's alone at number 1, has fallen all the way down to 5 and KVET which had been as high as 1 is down at 6. KFMK and KPEZ are well below what they have been and KVET-AM has been way underperforming. The only bright spot is KHFI which is probably equaling its best performance ever. With all the talk of cuts and layoffs coming at Clear Channel, I think I can point to the first person who SHOULD be let go....the operations manager Mac Daniels. Under his reign, KASE and KVET have taken a dive (he is also the program director of those 2 stations), he practically destroyed the Zone (KVET-AM) with his moronic personel moves, he is letting KFMK just sort of dangle there with no direction (yes it is supposed to be sold but this started long before that) and then there is KPEZ which was once a player in the market and now it is just one of several underperforming Christian pop stations (and they have spent some serious bucks trying to promote it). Again, the only bright spot is KHFI and he really doesn't touch it.
Clear Channel, if you have to cut somebody....I think you get my drift.
