Gotta mention this, too. Props to Gregg Rivers on this one.
I'm not sure what time it was yesterday PM...but Gregg was on the air.
Was letting the Ipod rest in the Jeep when...
I heard two things that I thought were great!
Again...since I never hesitate to bring up something "not-so-great" I might hear... I feel it's fair to point out the good stuff.
Thing One:
I heard "Lovin' Touchin' , Squeezin'" by Journey- in its ORIGINAL form WITH "City Of The Angels". Now, maybe they do that all the time, but this was the first time I heard it. That's the way that song(s) should be heard, and I enjoyed it!
Thing Two:
Apparently there is a feature called "Deep Cut" (although NOT that "Deep")...Where I suppose they're going to play and old album cut we've forgotten or at least haven't heard in a while. (Done to appease those that wish for really truly classic rock that unfortunately is mostly impossible to format these days. Gotta stay with a coupla hundred rock "classics"))
Anyway...the song was "The Cowboy Song" by Thin Lizzie!
Awesome...AND I haven't heard it in years.
So...although I still appreciate the irony of the "Shut Up and Rock" show...Kudos on what was at least a shining moment on a Monday afternoon.
