Many of Gray's mid-market network affiliates have reduced or even eliminated daytime syndicated product.
 
This week the 4:30 - 6AM GMAZ segment were Ian anchoring with Simone. Hopefully this isn't their long term substitute for Colton decision. Ian is great with everything he does, except anchoring. He has a lot of flubs. If he wants to anchor more often, this is the best time to get in a lot of practice.
 
And the new 9pm coanchor is...Vanessa Araiza from Tampa. She was introduced on several of the afternoon and evening newscasts. She officially starts tomorrow evening.
 
Kylee Cruz officially starts maternity leave this week. It was announced that Whitney Clark will be returning to Good Morning Arizona weekends.
I think Holly Bock is moving to GMAZ while Steven Sarabia will do nighttime weather.

Holly Bock seems to fit well on weekend GMAZ. I've noticed she does a great job reporting from festivals, events, and so forth.

Steven, on the other hand, seems to want to do harder news reporting during the week. So, perhaps, he could do the weekend evening weather plus the had news reporting 3 days/week.
 
Just noticed right now that 3TV and CBS5 are airing two separate Newscasts at the same time with different anchors both under the title Arizona's Family News at 9. Emma Lockhart is anchoring on 3TV and Michael Raimondi is anchoring on CBS5. Steven Sarabia just did the weather on both Newscasts back-to-back.

Interesting.
I turned on the 10PM Sunday news and it's a simulcast. However CBS5 is several seconds behind.

I think it was a one time thing with the Saturday 9 PM Newscast because they may not have started at the same time on both channels with 3TV starting was after the Phoenix Rising game and CBS5 after College Football. I did notice at 10 PM on Saturday that were back to simulcasting with just Michael Raimondi anchoring.
 
Just watched the Saturday news at 10pm. Steven Sarabia co-anchored and did the weather. He did a great job. Mercifully, Emma was nowhere in sight (although it is funny seeing Emma get lost at least once during the newscast).
 
Steven co-anchored and did the weather again over the Thanksgiving weekend as well. Michael and Emma were off. They never did properly introduce who the co-anchor was. It may have Alexis Dominguez, but I'm really not sure. Whoever it was did a much better job than Emma.

I saw the "current" GMAZ promo, and I wonder if 'ol Pasmore hired Cuccurullo or something? Call me crazy, but her smile is exactly like his --- they look like they're passing gas on-air! What's up with that? :eek: ..🫤

This is the only local news channel I've seen that... repeatedly. 🥴

3TV and CBS5 are airing two separate 10 PM Newscasts again tonight right now. Nicole Crites and Jared Dillingham anchoring on 3TV and I don't know who this lady who's anchoring on CBS5 is. Royal Norman did the weather on both. Do they normally do this when there's a Suns game?

She's been off the 10pm news (replaced by Vanessa Araiza) for at least a couple of months. I know she's still on at 8pm but not exactly sure where else. As we all know, it's often a challenge trying to pin down the AZ Family anchor and weather scheduling with all the changes and very generous vacation time. 😄 I noticed they're pushing her interview specials so maybe she's focusing more on that. Also Derek Staahl appears to have gone back to reporting and only anchors on a fill-in basis. Jared and Vanessa seem to be the A-team now. Every time I think I have the schedule figured out they shake it all up!

Honestly, the rotating carousel of anchors at AZ Family has pushed me back to 12 News in the evenings. I can't stand different anchor teams every single day and I really don't like the Jared/Vaness apairing.

Still watch GMAZ though.
 
We follow GMAZ on KTVK primarily. Follow up with KPNX 12 evening news.

Amber Sullins on ABC15 somehow has 86'd the southern 5 to 6% of AZ with her puzzling Arizona weather map. She has defended cutting off Sierra Vista, Douglas, Bisbee and Nogales, (etc.) Arizona.
It's not an Arizona weather map. Some of us have family and friends living there. It's more relevant to viewers than she gives it credit.
 
Yetta Sighting!! She and Michael Raimondi anchored the 10pm last night. Since the Suns game was on, they had the B-team in (although Royal was there with the weather forecast).
