B-94 Is Back!

Dave said:
"Who Knew" by Pink is playing now. A girl named Tina was on air reading text messages. Don't think it was live though.

Sounded like Gab Bonesso! Gross!

I noticed the new B doesn't pitch their music like KISS does...GREAT! :)

Hopefully the B STAYS in town this time! EXCELLENT variety of music so far. Good mix of pop and new Top 40.

The text number is on the website... I saw it earlier.

By the way, I've been waiting so long for this day.

(Too bad they cut out back in the day... all those people losing those jobs. Also, there were three finalists in the summer job promotion that lost out. I think I'm better for it, but it definitely sucked then. It was such a whirlwind.)

GLAD YOU'RE BACK B!

We got our station back!!! ;D

The flip was great, as good as the return of CBS-FM in New York.

Finally, they are going to get it right!

Welcome back B-94. We grew up on you, and missed you!

Delurking.

For the first time in three years, 93.7 goes back on my presets.

Several mistakes in the opening montage. B-94 signed on April 2, 1981, not April 1. The first song was by Billy Joel, but it wasn't "You May Be Right" -- it was "It's Still Rock and Roll To Me."

And WJOI didn't "abruptly interrupt its programming." WJOI host Del Taylor led up to that format change with a five-hour show called "The Last Joi Ride," complete with spots for WPNT (92.9), which was hoping to draw in disgruntled WJOI fans.

No matter. B-94 is back and I'm liking what I hear so far better than Kiss. Hell, I like Radio Disney better than Kiss.

ROCK ON, SEE-B-YES!

wow did anyone here the liner something like "This what it must have been like for Cleveland to get the Browns back?- The only thing is they still suck!" I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Hey Clarke, glad to see you back and "delurking" yourself. Good to see some conductive reasoning and comments from a great broadcaster who is still in the business. Heck, maybe I should strap the cans on again someday.

Don't be a stranger! Take care.

I love it! I love it! I love it! I have gotten use to it, but it's like Pittsburgh is put back together again. It's amazing! So, how long until Kiss begins to once again refer to it as "Station B?"

From listening the last few hours, they seem have a nice balance of songs. They are already having some contests next week to win Steeler tickets:)

Have they announced JDBS or any DJ lineups yet?

From the post gazette article, it looks like they are going to remain jockless for a few weeks. It will be interesting to see what DJ's are on there.

Geez.....B94 Reborn and then Clark Ingram popping out of the woodwork on the same day. I think I may cry. Thank goodness for radio stations streaming online these days, as you can't get Pittsburgh Radio here in little Happy Valley. It was listening to B94 as a youth, and then hearing Clark's Q-94 in the Altoona area that pulled me into this crazy business in the first place. Many mornings late to school because I could not pull away from Quinn and Bananna or Ed Sherlock. Ahh...memories!
Cheers to you Clark. Always wished I would have had the chance to work with you back in the day. Sent you a tape and resume once or twice, but it seemed as if everytime I dropped a tape in the mail you ended up flipping format or leaving where you were at, so perhaps I was your bad luck charm ;D

You're right. About a 3 hour spread on hot rotation songs (Fergie, Kanye) before being replayed. I have been tracking since 5 PM and no dead air, goof ups. Seems smooth and tight.

Not just because I LOVED B94 back in the day, but they are playing an AWESOME variety of songs. Not the same 20 OVER AND OVER again like KISS does. Seriously, KISS picks the new songs, drives them into the holy ground and then with throw one or two "older" songs in trying to mix it up a bit. Seems as if we finally have a "CHR/Top 40" station! If they get some good jocks, I think they may finally see 93.7 above all the AM stations! I'd love to see B94 smash KISS!

QUESTION...any idea on the calls? Will it stay WTZN even though that relates in no way, shape, or form to B94. C'mon, get the BZZ calls back and it's good to go! :)

BZZ calls are pretty much unlikely unless they want to spend some big cash. The station that has them now is not a CBS station, so unless either side is very giving, it probably won't happen.

Given the fact that the trademark is "B-94" and the phone numbers they are using relate to the frequency, I would assume the new calls to have one or two "B" 's in it to relate also.
