Nope, I can't. Fried out all my brain cells from ingesting all the research in the world. Can never get enough.

And my new DUAL deck in my car is stuck on the same frequency. Sound familiar?
______________

I guess "rocketman" told you something!!!
That's what you get for telling somemone else that they have a "misunderstanding of radio" and that you would never hire a Media major. What's wrong David, scared that the person who actually knows something about media will knock you off of your high horse.

Rocketman was not addressing me... he was addressing WYTZ.

I never would. So? I find that without work experience, a media major is as useful as an antenna on a papaya. The world of academia is so far removed form real radio as to be a fantasyland with little practical application.

It sure is not going to be you, I guarantee.

Now, Mr. Joe college, what _was_ the point of your posting? Do you have anything to say about the relationships of radio with record ducks, or not?

As a one-time PD of the #1 station in the #1 media market in the US, I feel fairly qualified to talk about what our feelisngs about ducks are... and what they are not. But feel free to contribute based on your vast experience.

Nasty comment? Yep, I am being nasty. But if you are going to make remarks in a group that has some experts 8as varied as thier opinions may be) be prepared to say something of substance, or don't say it.

I bet you were locked to the Paul Oakenfold Presents Mixshow on NINE this weekend! Did you properly fill out your _____ or did you get confused with which frequency you were listening to?
______________

You tell me how adjusting a rotation to help a record company helps a radio station, helps the PD keep ratings and their job, and I will accept your "loon" remark.

All the stations I know adjust current rotations based on listener research, and we would give a record duck as much input into that as we would to a cloistered nun... probably less.

Most programmers dread talking to record reps, and only do so when it is necessary. There is little to be gained, and it is a waste of time.

By the way, in case you did not notice the source of the "phone message" was what has been, for the last decade, LA's #1 non-Spanish langauge music station for more books than any other. That attitude is common in gthe industry.

Admitting to such doing, could open you up to a payola scandal. Someone call the Attorney General!
______________
