Ok, Since I am NOT leaving Phoenix after all, I might as well talk about Phoenix!
HMMM http://www.radio-info.com/markets/phoenix A few Questions Here:
_____________________________________________________________________/
1. Since when did KKFR become a "Rhythmic CHR"?
2. Just noticed that Clear Channel has both a Hot AC and CHR within the same city. Is this probably the reason why KMXP is so adult style pop rock leaning while KZZP leans very rhythmic? Look at who's winning between the two. Would KZZP be better off just leaning more adult (And would they if KMXP wasn't around)?
3. LOL at KZON and their high cume and ratings. If KZON got any higher, they would have to start hanging out with Snoop Dogg.
4. Is KQMR even necessary anymore with KVIB? I guess you could somewhat say (or ask) the same when it comes to both KYOT and KAJM... If we're going to do a "lower ratings battle", then someone might as well just go dance! (Yes, I said it! Please send all hate mail to [email protected]) Or perhaps, urban?
5. Would KNRJ do better or worse if they became an Urban Contemporary or a similar type of format? Apparently they are the only real hip hop station in town. Should they just go more current while keeping the same format style?
6. Since there was a change in plans, and I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE, I am excited to be IN Phoenix in 2011 to enjoy KVIT The Goldmine when it debuts in Phoenix sometime next month! But I question; How many Top 40 / Chr's can the valley support? I don't think KMVA is going anywhere because they seem to keep fine tuning and "perfecting" their top 40 playlist and finding their "niche style."
7. Since when did KFYI start having trouble and why? It doesn't look like the listeners necessarily ran off to KTAR either....
8. What's going on with KPKX?
9. And last (but not least), who else is going to get Christmassy this year? I'm sure there's got to be a format change in store for somebody in Phoenix this year. ("Christmassy" is my new favorite word. I stole it from somebody... and she's reading this and smiling RIGHT NOW..) I wanna hear My Favorite Christmas LP!
