backfire April fool kmx

When I said HUGE Shoes I did mean Kelly or Princess as you like to refer to her. She may have talked about bobble head and her dogs but it was funny and sincere not the same thing over and over again. Who really cares about El Captains exercise routine? He is not the only person in the Army or in life doing exercise. Kelly had passion and a connection with her listeners, as was said before you loved her even if you wanted to hate her. I believe and again this is only my opinion if you want to keep your listeners you must be fresh, innovative and above all true to them, give up the corny "Bit’s" the April Fools Jokes, just keep your listeners informed, show you care and play good music....Stop the mundane.

Again, Drivetime, do tell us where we can hear your show. Maybe you can help us get a better
understanding of what a show should be.

"It's sad, so sad why don 't we talk it over
sorry seems to be the hardest word" (Elton John)

As I think you know David, my numbers "did" and "do".

The bitterness is very hard to get over. The anger is quicker and easier to overcome but the bitterness of what could have been is more difficult. But have hope Princess, it does eventually turn to a cynical type of humor.

Have you guys noticed the complete psychological cycle of working in the clouds? Ever since KMX was moved into the clouds and the "old guard" run off (which though seems another lifetime was only 29 mos) the personality generally goes through these stages;
1) Excitement and absolute defense
2) Yeah we're trying real hard
3) Goodness, I work with/for idiots
4) Anger because they fired the best thing they had going for them
5) Bitterness because the ones left haven't a clue
6) The last which is when you get bigger belly laughs listening to them really screw things up on the air
7) Acceptance of the inevitable for yer ole master - insolvency.

Incidentally, these stages do not apply to David (really, seriously) because he's been burned so many times (and done his share of burning) that he's well jaded. Same for KC but he's always on the burned side. I find it funny so I'm still on 6 and once I reach 7 then I'll graduate into the David and KC category.

Hope all have a good weekend and I wish the best for KC's and Big Mike.

Oh yeah, one last thing for Trent. Sir, this "atmospheric" condition is not even close to the reason for the terrible signal and loudness. Send a pm to Preem Palvor and he can detail it for you and also tell you the chance of getting any of it! That should send you right to stage 2.

Doug,

I don't have a master, I have an employer and I respect them for canning you a$$.

Dave

There is so much I could say, I don't know where to start.

1) Kelly- You are right everybody loved to hate her! She wasn't entertaining it was either Bobblehead or her Dogs...so with Stephanie it's her Husband and his excercise...same stuff over and over...

2) The Revenue of Magic- There isn't any...didn't they just loose a receptionist due to budgets? If a minimum wage employee is killing your budget somthing needs to be done. While the queen is earning enough to vacation and take crusies? Maybe its time to overlook your sales team.

3) The numbers- Magic should have the #1 and #2 station and possibly another one in the top 5, but they fail to do that. It looks like they just losing?

4) The Trainwreck- was the beginning of the end. It was the titanic before the the iceberg, now it hit the iceberg.

I think I'm done for now...

And to all a good week-end!

if you have never been fired in radio you are just doing grunt work.

creativity in a changing market requires risk.

Good luck to everyone trying to do the best that they can to entertain, satisfy management, satisfy listener's and satisfy clients.

It's a tough job we all enjoy or we wouldn't be doing it.

Best wishes to all.

You win some, you lose some.

Winning's better though.

check that. i have been in radio 30+ years and have never been fired or filled out a job application.
i don't consider keeping a station operating and on the air "grunt" work.
it also requires creativity sometimes.

i am assuming (and i know what happens when you assume something) that you are one of the rare people who does mechanical (engineering) and aren't on the air.

engineers are a special breed.

if not you are a very special person never to have been fired.

i sit corrected!

Quote from David Sommers...

"I listen to stations in this market daily and hear clumsy mistakes"

Thats what happens when you listen to either 106.7, 95.5, 100.5, 93.1, or 103.9

How nice that everyone else is so perfect. ::)

To give credit where credit is due:
I heard the commercial that is being played on Fox34 and Trent did a good job with it....very articulate.
That's all I have to say about that..........

Can't we gert along? LOL! Hey life is too short for all the NEGATIVITY! I don't know Trent but I know most of his co-workers and I will tell you Richard, Amie, K.C., Big Mike, David Sommers, Elizabeth, J.J., Stephano, the ENTIRE gang at Magic Broadcasting in Dothan are great people and Tremendous Air Talents and Dedicated Professionals. When I was with 97X, I always loved doing events with the Dothan gang more than I did in Panama City Beach! Sorry, I had to say that and defend my former co-workers! Hope all is well otherwise!

Odd, the Jedi master correctly alludes to gathering the positive forces of the universe unto ones self for total enlightenment. That is proper but the oddity is that in order to do so there must be balance and harmony within the self and for that occurrence which necessarily calls for complete peace and total selflessness even in the face of total selfishness and egocentrism. Alas, unless my stone deceives my eyes, one group in the clouds proceeds to attempt self elevation higher than the others which will (or may) cause severe imbalance. If this be the case then "Daddy" master Jedi is going to be disappointed.

Me thinks the jolly fat man of foundation has heard this recent wind in the universe. Hmmm?

wasn't April Fools Day last week?? Why are we still on this topic? ::)
