I'm putting WKHM-FM Jackson, MI on the list. It's hardly even a CHR right now. It'd be a heckuva lot better if they dayparted, which would give them room to play the tracks that they seem not to realize the market is screaming for.
I'll second the comments about WHYI. On top of their playlist being
way too tight, they've canned just about anyone who has any talent, and they've left the Miami market... in the sense that they don't relect Miami
at all anymore.
Another CHR that gets my thumbs-down is WKFR in Battle Creek. The music choice is terrible (though it's better than it was before the Keith Curry "era"), the morning show is in
serious need of work, the rest of the jocks (with the exception of night guy Ray Thomas who continues to improve) have absolutely
no personality on the air, and the processing is
awful (too little highs, not enough rumble in the lows and
way too much low-end midrange to the point that it sounds like a bad PA system no matter what the quality of your receiver or speakers). All in all... not the worst station out there, but most
certainly not the best.<P ID="signature">______________
