WANE-TV is running a story that a woman is the victim of a prank aired on 107.9. She says HOT 107.9 is partly to blame for the black eye her boyfriend gave her after she found a strange number on his cellphone. When she called it back she was apparently drawn into a gag put on by the jock on the air (WANE's story right now didn't say who was on the air at the time.)
I'm wondering if 107.9 is legally on the hook for this one. I'm thinking there's other stations that air a disclaimer that says (to some degree) "calls to this station may be recorded for on air use." In my mind once they do that there's nothing that can be done against the station, but if they DID NOT then somebody's going to (potentially) be cutting one hefty check.
This is all I know about it right now. I think there's going to be more "AT ELEVEN." As we all know.
