bad situation for once strong FM

DJ Sammy good??? laughable....Strobel is program director and he can be "blamed " for alot of the mishap at Pembroke Pines...the music sucks...sometimes you will hear a top song then bam...back to the 80's we go...no direction, no format at all. Get a decent music programmer and that's heading in the right direction. When I worked there Gary Knight was in charge of music and it was good, so were ratings...Strobel always gets thrown into doing music logs when they're "hard up" for help..after all he's been there for like 20 years or so......And the new kid...he can't even remember what's he was even talking about...very green. Perhaps that's why the stations going under.

"Kinda harsh, dontchya think? Yeesh!"

thank you Radknowski....sounds like Melrose place to me. And you are right, the one man NYC guy had the nerve to say he "just got out of the nut house" is a very nice guy, just trying to make a living. We all have problems at home, we all can improve in our jobs, we all make mistakes and those who rip people for them just becuase they are in the public's eye are ruthless and frankly cowards. Thank you for sharing your story, wish we had more gentlemen on here like you! Enjoy your input and media knowledge.

Ok...Cool...LVY....Unfocused out the bum.....Let's hear Cool by Gwen Stefani...Into Chris Brown Run It....Into Blackeyed Peas where is the love...What's wrong with that music set??? On top of that....The station sound like ass...The processing is awful...Large humm in the background..Imaging is awful...They should be ashmed to us Today's Hit Music...haha...Yeah where was it in those 3 songs...loose board...jock have no energy Jonathan is good...but other then that...The rest of them sound like they could care less about being there....I know for fact LVY iwas leanig toward HOT AC not sure what happend to that...But they'd be better off...Phuthner bounces checks left and right...Even his major contest in the cash grab resulted in bounced checks...There running in 1983 equipment...Cd's and the first version of Scott Studios along with a moldy musty dirty studio...The whole operation is a joke and anyone who thinks any different of what I just said then check it out for your damnself...

As for NKI.....The station sounds very focused they got a great team and are lucky aty that and the station is a stepping stone for the talent not a last result....And obviosly you know nothing about any of them and where they came from or why there at the station....NKI sounds better then half the Binghamton radio stations..Yeah maybe a smaller market but it's true...I can say for a fact half the people I know in Owego will listen to Wink Before Wild...Sad but true.Wild should be called MILD 104 or Amature 104, Sounds like crap!!...Wink is a focused flame throwing CHR with the right Jocks...The right music....Great promotions and one hell of a signal!!!

We're all a work in progress.

I couldn't agree more for the most part. Look at this objectively rather than subjectively though. I for one mess up as well and I get pissed about it every time I do but there really are some people that don't belong in radio or ANY entertainment business for that matter and Allison is one of those many by a long shot. I met her once at a remote and she looked as lost doing that as she sounds on the radio. This is a career that's not for her and she'll never be anything more than a house wife. I don't mean this to sound so rude but it is what it is. Again though I DO agree with the rest of what you wrote.

Put yourself in their shoes. Would YOU want to work at a radio station when all you'll get at the end of the day is a bounced paycheck and no sense of pay structure, music structure, or program structure? Strobel is clearly the best one in this entire market but from what I remember of DJ Sammy is when he was at WINK and boy he gave everyone a run for their money...that is until he decided to be a dumb ass and get a DWI in a company vehicle. Maybe I'm reading too much into this but it just sounds like he needs a change of scenery perhaps or maybe some stability within the company would be enough?

If I'm such a "coward" as you say then why am I where you'll only ever dream of being? I got here by working my butt off so I believe I have a MAJOR reason to say whatever I feel like saying. I think you may be reading too deeply into my statements perhaps? Or maybe it's jealousy. Whatever it is, feel free to exploit it as much as possible because I'm having fun with this whiny stuff you write.

Agreed that NKI has better equipment and talent BUT just like LVY it's a cesspool for failures. One out of every 100 from this market will actually have the chance of moving up to market 219 and the rest...well.....they stay. Why? I don't know, maybe it's something in the water that tells people that they won't go anywhere.

And this just in... Steve Todd is the new sales manager for 94. You may know Steve as the former Backyard Sales employee and current owner of The Amp. Good luck, I guess!

If you like bounced paychecks, small minded thinking, lack of common sense and job instability... the Pembrook Pines Media Group is for you. That's All!

His title may be sales manager ... but that doesn't mean squat at PPMG. Bob Pfuntner is in charge of everything. He hands out titles but he runs it all. Or should I say ... tries to run it all. As a result ... well you've all read about it on here ....

Where's Randknowski??? addressed a compliment to HIM...Not NYY26, looks like a bitter small town DJ jumpin' in and making this forum a childs schoolground, the comment was not for YOU it was a compliment to Randknowski who adds positive, constructive criticism..MYOB

Songs from the 80's? I think you better doublecheck...
The new kid is green but he's so much better than their last attempt at a replacement for Gary...That creepy KC...he was AWFUL! I hear he's taken his cornball act to Piggy...

Sounds like a loyal WNKI employee...The fact is WNKI has won one book in a row! They've always faded after one good book, and this time will be no different...

WLVY music set 11am
over and over nelly
paralyzer finger eleven
these words natasha bedingfield
hey there delilah plain white t's
tattoo jordan sparks
wake up call maroon 5
beatiful girls
the timbaland ballad "apologize"?
daughtry " home"

Sounds pretty focused to me...But then again I don't work at wink anymore, or worship at the alter of uncle fester scott free

Thanks for the interesting reading!

BTW...we did finally get rid of the cd players...

Good job copying the log, perhaps you program there? However previous blogs are correct, the music changes on any given day, one month ago the station played Bobby Brown's "Every little Step", try winning a book with that one . And yes, Jonathan is better than KC but not gonna win your ratings, sorry. Wink will continue to take the market.

The last of Bobby Brown and the 80s was August 17th...I did check the logs...

We did in fact attempt a switch to Hot AC it didn't go very well. It was around the time Gary was leaving.

I thought it might be the best option since I was told that we were hiring Allison again and the other replacements being hired were older, and I though a chr presentation would be difficult. Gary's replacement Casey didn't know any artists, and I preferred a format other than chr. Failed experiment.

I don't have any animosity towards anyone at WINK. I met Scott and he seems cool, in fact I spoke to him yesterday. They've done a great job in the ratings obviously. Although, regardless of the circumstances, we havn't done much to help ourselves. I think we're now headed in the right direction however.

Bash away

Nothing personal Mike, but your music is still all over the map and you and your new guy Doug arn't any younger than previous talent there. So still CHR? makes no sense.

Well, the format's not my call...And I won't argue you perception of the music for the last month...
