BAMA JAM to charge radio stations? WTF?

If you are one of the 'favored' radio stations it's alright I guess. Get your tent put in a prominent location, hang out backstage all 3 days and meet all of the artist, get interviews with most or all of the artist.

Our $75 got us informed that we weren't on the list for a booth, but we could still get one no worries.
Yep, back in the back 40 somewhere. No artist, no access.

But we did hang with the marines for 3 days which is pretty damn good company.

Thank God for the military. We love those guys. Honor, God, Country.

Hats off to my radio warriors who were out there all 3 days with no promise or expectation
of any of the perks. Just the satisfaction of doing their job like the bad ass professionals they are.

David Sommers. Melody Lee. I love you guys.

Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis does a great job of getting the artists to the stations. Obviously, not every station gets every artist but they split them up fairly along with the announcing duties for each band. This seemed to keep all of the stations happy which in turn keeps them promoting the event.

I had a big diatribe about the way Bama Jam has treated us as a station the past 3 years. But i'm shutting up and saying the hell with it.....**** it.......It's not worth it.

Oh, and Dave and Melody...You guys rock! Thanks for representing us out there, and to the Marines for having us there as their guest those 3 days!

It seems everyone missed the point I was trying to make. This thread began about Bamajam Charging $75 for a space. The Nut fest has been charging for years and no one has seemed to complain. The p-nut festival charges much more than $75.....$750 and up, Why hasn't anyone complained about that. I am not saying it is right or wrong I am just making a comparison.
In response to "the perks" of the "favored" radio stations, I think every station got an artist media contact list. Make a few calls, wait.....I meant several calls.... and viola you can get an interview and a few backstage passes thrown in..... no favors in artists interviews or meets....we all play the records. A quote from Scottie of Star Trek..."under promise over deliver"...and you won't have to ask the next go round!

I'm gonna LOL at that statement and let this discussion fade into the distance.

When the vein that is throbbing in my forehead goes down I'm gonna smoke a cigarette
and have a sip of water.

Next year I will do what I have always done concerning BamaJam. Those who work with
me will decide if we 'over deliver' or not.

Wow it's hard to not say more than this right now....Jesus...help me.
