Yeah, the format did wonders for STAR last year! They lost 2/3 of their audience. So, your generalization is quite rash. It works for some and not for others. With 2 big signals and several rimshots doing it this year, it's a major burnout. And, it's out of control.

Do we really need to have more Christmas stations in the market (including strong rimshots) than we have CHR, Urban, Spanish, Hip Hop and Country combined?

NO...

If you're reference point is ONLY Boston, then it's you that is making rash generalizations.

Look at New York, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, LA, etc, etc.

Year after year these stations have done very well with Christmas music.

Please name some others stations that it didn't work for.

I can only think of TWO stations in the USA that went down in the ratings after playing Christmas Music. ONE of them is Star. Why? Wrong format to flip to Christmas! You can't do Dance and Rythym as an image....and then expect people to stop for Christmas music. (Plus there's no Christmas product for the rythm format!)

The two format choices for the 'All Christmas' is AC & Oldies.

Everyone has an opinion!

The ratings will give us the answer!

We'll all find out the first week of January!
