Wrong! It was not an outright LIE- It was the total truth, but it was misleading.
FWIW, in my mind, a "lie" is a deliberate representation of something that is intended or known to be highly likely to cause the recipient to believe something that is not accurate or valid. Think of most any degree of consumer marketing/sales... and a healthy portion commercial/B2B marketing/sales.
To me, the Bauerle thing was a lie.
And, as far as dB being a legend... I suppose it depends on what constitutes legendary status (in radio sales, in this case). Longevity? Unique accomplishment? Innovation? Integrity? This, no doubt, is a topic for another thread though.
