Beach Boogie & Blues Comes To 1070 WNCT Monday Jan 5TH

Hopefully you can hear it on the web..Monday..I'm a little nervous about that but again I'm excited and so many friends seem excited for me....All I can do is work my butt off,make it as good as my average ability will let me and make sure its different from anything on the radio..I have lots of people to thank for helping get this thing ready..I am just a small part of it...

It sounds great Allen, I had to chuckle at Teddy Pendergrass' "Turn off the Lights" when I heard it...some md at station marked it "Nightime Only" airplay because of the "let's take a shower together" lyric...

1070's new format is DA BOMB!
My wife listens to the live AM show in the kitchen trough her laptop. I listen in the bathroom, bedroom, etc through a little FM transmitter.
The talk and tunes are perfect.
But the analog AM at 1070 still sounds lifeless, flat, and about 80% modulated. WTSB/WMPM is just next door on the dial, and they really sound bright and happy!
So is Bishop Willis in charge of the directional array there at 1070?
If he is, get him out. Then adjust that processing so 1070 will shower the love of Beach, Boogie, & Blues all over the Coast!!

We are working hard to give people something to listen to that is different..I'm not an engineer so the tech questions aren't my specialty but we have gotten some good response and it is a one day at a time process...I appreciate the kind words..

In the Carolinas, we need more beach and shag. When WVOT was beach and shag, I was just getting my feet wet in professional radio, some very cool guys and gals there, and I didn't know much about beach music at the time, but came to really love it. Now I find myself scanning the radio waves on Sundays looking for a nice beach and shag station to listen to. Good luck to ya WNCT.
Spent a good part of my day Saturday in the car driving along in Northeastern NC. Enjoyed 1070 WNCT a lot. I've been listening from time to time, especially since the format change in January. Is it me or have they tweaked the playlist a bit from what they were playing a couple of months ago? Also, did not hear the hash on 1060 and 1080, I guess the HD has been turned off? Fun station to listen to. Did not hear any local spots. I saw an article on the News and Observer website this weekend about the problems with advertising dollars in the media. I also saw something recently in R&R about Beasley employees getting pay cuts. I hope the guys and gals at WNCT are able to keep the "Beast of the East" running smoothly until the economy picks back up. -Bill
