Two guys whose only funny comes from stolen shtick from the Ticket, trying to pretend to be radio guys....It was a very painful listen. They were fine for Saturday morning radio...But not 4 1/2 hours five days a week. It sounded like college radio, I mean really bad college radio, in fact I don't think they would be good enough for Retro radio....Know what I mean? :p Freaking Terrible.
 
And Pugs n Kelly were better? Jeez, cmon. And this was the first day. There's no way you could judge a show on one day. The first day at that.
 
yeah, because P&K and Ron & Don were wonderful human beings who i needed to care about.

maybe it's the richardson bias, but i think it was a good first show. they'll grow and evolve if they get the chance. They're fine storytellers.

the only problem i had was that eric was on the air. he may be a good producer, but he's painful to listen to. it's like he's never done it before.
 
I was awful...I have heard better on college radio. I actually listened to the whole show thinking, this has GOT to get better....but I was wrong. This screams sheer desperation on 105.3's part.
I think I prefer silence to their so called show. Hey, that's an idea
 
Wow..all the whiners taking a crap on their grave because you're not in their slot...Guess what kids: Radio, like everything else, is who ya know, not what ya know. Besides, these two are just getting started, so cut 'em some slack and quit giving them grief.

So you think they're saving up their 'good' stuff for day 23? or day 87? Day 293?

I didn't get a chance to listen, so they may get better, the problem they'll have is that they'll burn through any good ideas they have early in the run, when people are much more likely to tune out because of presentation issues- by the time they start getting their sea-legs under them, they may be burnt out on the same schtick, same bits, etc...

And yeah I sucked on my first day. But my first day doing full time radio was some 30 years ago. I had time, (and minor markets and crappy time slots) to get better. They're on a big ole stick, in a decent time slot, making major market money. (one assumes) (although maybe one shouldn't)
 
For the record, I have always thought they sucked. I don't see talent in people who go the the Ticket as super fans and just steal shtick from the other shows. It is a bad show, and a bad hire. That will be proven each day at 10:30.

Thank you! I didn't want to be the first to say it. I kept wondering why Eric was getting so much air time.
 
I didn't even listen to a repeat of Jaggers morning show..
And only 5 minutes of Ben and Skin just to see what
they were about..
I relized I am over 105.3 all together..
Thank god I am free at last ::)
 
Please pass the HATERADE!! Wow, there's no pleasing some people!! I think they will be great! Sure, it's gonna take some time to evolve, but I think their show will. I didn't realize Eric comes with the timeslot though. It was painfully obvious that they didn't click at all. Whenever the did that psuedo-news junk it was a trainwreck. They need to get rid of him and do their own thing. I've never heard them before, but even I could tell that it was awkward and just not clicking. Other than that, I thought they did well. I'm not sure what all the haters here expected.

I won't classify myself as a hater because I haven't listened, although I used to listen to hear them sometimes when I'd fly by KTCK.

But perhaps what the 'haters' were expecting were major market talent. People who'd hosted a regular talk show as something more than a part time gig around 'real jobs', or as a temporary fill in.

Everybody needs their first big break, but there's 2 schools of thought on that:
1. If they were THAT great, they'd have been recognized before this and moved up somewhere else before this. OR
2. There's a reason why they were weekenders. Because they're not major-market talent, i.e. incapable of drawing decent ratings when given their shot.

Maybe they'll be that 1 in 100 that prove those theorys wrong. But the initial response here certainly doesn't look promising.

I have to agree with you on THAT Albert19X!! I'm realizing now that P&K leaving was the best thing that could have happened to his career! He's had more mic time in the past 2 months than he's had all of his years with P&K! UGH!!
 
Would be nice to hear them without Eric's input and cackle. He was the first thing I heard when I turned them on. You can tell they're all like, "ughhhhhgggggg shut up kid and run the board!". I like the whole "we're not going to talk sports" bit. That should last a week. Not that I'll be tuning in to see. Just another shtick and sarcastic voice show. Zzzzzzzz
 
I was a P1 from Day1 on THE TICKET until I found Russ on 1053 and havent been back to the ticket since except for Saturday mornings when I dont want to hear HEALTH TALK or Nascar. I really enjoyed P and K and I use to enjoy B and S on the Saturdays on the ticket and was excited about the midday slot. I work nights and sleep days so I ahvent had a chance to listen to the entire show, but ive caught 15 and 20 minutes segments inbetween sleep and I have to say so far Ben and Skin arent doing anything for me. Im not a radio insider or on anyones jock im just an avid listener.
