Bengals Radio Crap-ola

The Bengals radio spots are sold in house......(Bengals) not with CC anymore as far as I know......I can't wait till the Bengals and hopefully the REDS leave CC all together.

Where would they go then Antenna Geek. CC has the 2 big AM blowtorches. so unless the Bengels want to be on a puny AM station (which is a requirement in the bengels contract) and a class A level FM Station. The Bengel's best choice for listening audience is being with CC

and same with the Res in Reality. unless they go to an FM. they wont have a good AM to go to in the Cincy market

Where's Bob Trumpy? What ever happened to him?

He probably had the good sense to retire.

Remember way back when Randy Michaels had that " suicial caller " call Trumpy on air and he " talked her down ?" Trumpy would talk to her, then stop and play commercilas, then come back to her.......funny stuff. WEBN did a spoof of this........funnier stuff......back when Trumpy did the WLW sports talk thing at nite...........

I have never had a problem with Lap. That is just his style and he is really enthusiastic and you would be hard-pressed to find someone who truly cares more about the franchise than he does. I like the work that he does for the Bengals as well as for Fox on the Big 12 games. There are homers all around the league and the Bengals Radio Network is really no different. I mean sure Brad and Lap went overboard a few times but just listen to the calls that are played on SportsCenter of all the hometown broadcasts and you will hear the same thing. These guys are one game into their run and they will be fine.

Agree on Lap's work on Fox with Big 12 games, he's professional, gives good analysis and doesn't step on the play by play guy. Then he joins the Bengals games and does just the opposite. No problem with homer announcers, just be a pro and let the play by play guy do his job and fill in the gaps. Plenty of downtime between plays to gush, gurgle, pop off, scream, whatever.

@mikestandards.....AM wise, no where to go since they are on WLW and ESPN.....50000 watt.....Now with FM they could go just about anywhere.....96 ROCK, The FOX, B105 just to name a few......

But Im Sure Mike Brown will want an AM Station to be on. besides the FM. because when he took the Bengels away from WLW/550/WOFX at the Time. and Put them on 1160/B105. so im sure there will always be some sort of clause in the bengals radio deal to be on an AM Station besides an FM outlet.

I remember that suicidal caller... perhaps they put her on hold during the commercials. Maybe the Muzak gave her hope.

Wow. I listened to Thursday's pre-game show and it was, by far, some of the worst broadcasting I have ever heard. That includes radio and television, and college/low-power station efforts. What a complete disaster. I realize this is pre-season, but non-stop Cutler and myriad production issues conspired to make this show exactly what the title of this thread calls it: crap-ola.
