Interesting to see the negativity towards Mondosphere...they treated me like a king for nearly 10 years before selling out to CC.

Cliff & Peter stayed in Manhattan and kept their noses out of our business(in SLO), and let (then) GM Don Shore run his own ship. Don was an incredible leader, motivator and not a bad poker player either!

We were never lacking in anything. A healthy promotional budget every year, top-of-the-line equipment and facilities, competitive salaries...AND the only operator who ever offered me profit sharing! Which was a pretty big 5-figure chunk of money by the time we were sold!

Maybe the issues with other Mondosphere outlets came from your local GM.(?)

For us here on the central coast, it was some of the most fun and rewarding years I've ever had!

I remember as a kid growing up watching FOX 26 or back then KMPH 26. That channel was always hard to get clear. Always snowy, even with rabbit ears. I guess a lot of improvements have been made in the past 30+years.

I hope KMPH will remain a FOX affliate after the station is Autioned off in the Pappas Bankruptcy.I hope somebody will purchace it before that happens.

Allot of the politics expressed on both sites appear identical, I have since talked to a few engineers who followed Brad, most concur; pride in workmanship was not his specialty. The photos used on the outdated site speak for themselves, regarding transmitter access. I know a few roads to XMTR sites that may make Brad's sites like a walk in the park, Mount Potosi outside of Las Vegas would test any four wheel drive and its driver.

I might be wrong, but didn't SANDRA JOHNSON work for CITADEL under the air name of SANDY MITCHELL, who worked at ROCK 104 (KHOP) in the Evening Shift as well as 104.1 THE HAWK (KHKK) in the mornings before being displaced by MIKE McKNIGHT who was then displaced by the syndicated BOB & TOM show.

David, you never had to directly work for Jon Horton. That's why your deal was such a party. If he dropped dead tomorrow no one would shed a tear considering how he treated people.

Didn't Jon Horton work at KDJK-95.1 when it was ALTERNATIVE and owned by MONDOSPHERE back in 95?

Oh yes I know all about Jon Horton...he'd blow through town every so often and beat his chest for us. Most of us just shook our heads and laughed behind his back. Fortunately, we had true leadership in the GM chair.

Best INDIVIDUAL Broadcasters in Fresno: Chris Daniel, Ray Appleton, Basil Roxalot (the weekend guy on the Fox kills me)

Worst INDIVIDUAL Broadcaster in Fresno (present company excluded) : Charlie Simmons was pretty bad, but for incompetance above and beyond the call of duty, my vote goes to...a man whose name rhymes with "Deaf Spaghetti"

Best Morning show (Last 25 years) Dean Opperman and Don Fisher (THE BREAKFAST CLUB) KKDJ and KCLQ,and THE FRONT ROW with Chris Daniel and Jen Lipp.

Worst Morning show Charlie Simons and Athena (Star 101.1).

Appearently, she hasn't had a winning morning show ever, despite how she tried to act like she was this huge local celeb or something on the tanker...aka Big Country...

I'm going to have to agree...the first morning show with the two females was so bad it was embarrassing! The brain power that was coming off that show was next to nothing....dumb and dumber comes to mind. And then the change up with Uncle Buck still couldn't help Athena.

I have to disagree...Chris Daniels knows Country unlike Athena. Daniels' Daddy is a Country LEGEND and Chris has it in the blood...I hope she doesnt go down with that ship, I have met her a few times and she is a nice person and deserves better.

I guess I should have been more clear, the SHOW was dumb and Athena and Kris didn't do anything for each other...didn't mesh well. I'm surprised it was on the air for as long as it was.

Kris does know country you are right...and I wasn't saying that she isn't a nice person...I don't know her at all. I too hope she can weather the Big Country storm.

You are right the show was horrible. Athana talked about herself all the time and would talk over everyone that called in!! Kris couldn't get a word in so that's probably why she never said anything. that show should have never been on the radio and the one after was even worse it was like two childern running crazy no structure. Wasn't Uncle Buck in charge? why did he let that happen. I heard from my friend that works there that Kris is gone very soon and the state of the station is up in the air?? Anyone else know whats going on?

Dave Luna on 97.5 KABX get's my vote for best morning show, a little corny, but very funny! I tune in every morning.

The worst morning show...............The Bob and Tom Show. They suck!!!!!!!!

Dave Luna at 97.5 is good ,he's the only one keeping that station alive,Don't care for KABX satellite delivered format.I like the lost oldie that he does,to bad the station doesn't go local.
