Loop Songs ca. 1981.
The idea, The Loop plays a once second snippet of seven songs starting at 10am some random Monday. The first correct caller after the seven seconds of songs plays; wins $10,000. The contest was scheduled to run for at least three months.
Meanwhile at WMET, Bob Stroud and Dave Benson tape the seven second sounder and dissect it in the production room. When the songs were figured out, WMET plays them on the air, back to back. The next time the Loop Songs sounder plays, the station is flooded with calls. The contest ends on day one.
In a bizarre twist, Stroud and Benson, eventually work at the Loop.
