Best Country radio stations...

I believe there are too many college grads in the country music industry that even the music can't be natural like it use to be, don't get me wrong I finished college too but that's not the way country music started it's roots are founded in real people and real life, there has been too much so called improvement on what was once a good thing that everyone could relate to songs that had a country beat and told a story about things that happened in real peoples lives. Maybe the real country stations understand that.

i agree with you.

waylin jennings once said in an interview when asked what was the worse thing in the music business"that too many marketing people in suits think they know more about country music then him" or words to that effect.

Best country station/show in and around lafayette, la is hands down KXKC's middays with Jen @ 10! brightest spot in radio!!!!! young and refreshing. you can tell by her voice/attitude she just loves what she does! she runs circles around her midday competition! they also stream live on the net, 99.1 - kxkc.com ....well worth a listen! keep up the fantastic work jen!

99.5 WUSN in Chicago. Plays a very good mix of new and fairly old, though not classic country.
104.5 WFMB Springfield, IL . Good heritage small market station. Is very quick to add new music, but hasn't forgotten who Buck Owens/Dwight Yoakam are.

Dwight Yoakam? Has it come to that?

A few weeks ago I hard "Fast As You" on a classic country station. I can remember when I thought of that as new-sounding garbage. The video didn't help with that perception.

welcome to the passage of time buddy...just yesterday garth brooks, clint black, and alan jackson were the newbees on the scene. now they are the veterans that dont get as much airplay. just yesterday jeff gordon was a young california punk on the nascar scene, now hes a grizzled veteran. just yesterday...........

KIX 97.9 Springfield, Mass. Much better than my local Country 92.5 out of Hartford. Both are owned by Clear Channel so I guess it's all about who's programming it.

KICKS 105.5 Danbury, CT. Cumulus does a good job with it even tho some of the jox are VTd. I also think The CMT Radio Network they air weeknights at 7PM is good.

And I certainly enjoy "After Midnite" the overnight Country Show that airs on Country 92.5 and a zillion other country stations.
