Best Free DJ software

What is the best free DJ PC software? I have heard that OTS is good but I am looking for some decent shareware radio automation software.

Take a look at Winamp Radio Scheduler www.superposter.ro/wrs/news.html...It's pretty simple and integrates fully with Winamp and Shoutcast. I have been using this combination for over a year now and the only thing I found was to be sure you have a large playlist for Winamp, as ocassionally, you may experience a repeat of a song when using the Jingles feature in WRS along with one single Winamp playlist. I have over 2500 songs now in my playlist and have not experienced any repeats when running a jingle every 15 minutes. Another plus is you can keep all you audio in mp3 format unlike other software that may require you to convert mp3's to a proprietary playlist.

I would agree. This is an excellent package and has many features that are only available in expensive automation systems.

I get sooo freegin confused with Zararadio. That software created some weird files or something, and could not get it to do what I wanted it to do (rotate correctly, and play liners, as well as rotate every hour. I just gave up on that, gonna stick with DirEttore. My personal opinion is that that is the best I have used for free.
______________

I have been using this software for part 15 and I am quite pleased with the ability to plan when promos and even songs will play. I wanted recently to have my station quiet for 25 hours, no problem just let the software know and it does just that.

How are Americans supposed to read Spanish though? n/m

What the answers, as good as they were didn't say was how to put the music on........I haven't a clue as to what a mp3 is.....so how do we dub our records/cd's to these programs? Is it done anymore?
______________

Carl,

Good thing I took 4 years of Spanish in High School/College and lived in a Spanish country for a year... helped and now I'm fluent... anyway Zararadio is an excellent package, I use it exclusively only with Sound Solutions and basically got rid of all the other automation software!

As far as getting the records/tapes/cd's to mp3's, get Audacity (freeware) and record it as you would anything on your computer, you can make excellent professionally done work, in fact I edit the offending language off the music and replace it with non offending material and you cannot hear any clue what's been done, ie. radio-edit.

Try it... it's even as fun as broadcasting....
