Too many of the same old same old names. Give someone new a shot.

With WDOK being the only player in the market with a true AC, and WMJI billing a bank vault just about everyday I wouldn't be too shocked if it evolves to a Modern AC or Adult Contemporary of sorts.

Is a second better than a format exclusive?
Depends on the format.
Will a 2nd AC bring more money than the only AAA?
Probably, but with WQAL, WDOK, and WHLK all doing some verion of AC, it would be the 4th AC.
Will a 2nd Country format bring more money than the only AAA?
Doubtful.... and unlikely since the owners already own a country signal that covers a good deal of the market.
The horrible debut of the AAA format really hurt that station. Never got out of the box.
Agreed.
Another question, will that Akron company invest in a real morning show on 107.3?
WThey'd probably be better off staying with a music forrmat and doing it well.

There are AAA exceptions...of course. But, at first glance....northeastern Ohio wouldn't seem to be a fertile area for AAA...at least for a radio station that needs to make money.
Look at aspects of the area from the way it actually is...not in a way that'd favor an indivdual's personal favorite radio format.

So you're saying...classic rock?
Somebody to give NCX a run for their money?
It could work if done the right way.
98.5 as it stands now is the only legitimate fulltime rock station in the Rock and Roll HOF city.
WMMS plays some rock, but as only part of their overall man-cave format.
WMJI play tunes from multiple genres (within the '64-'85 timespan)
The Lake does the same, but from a more recent vintage
And the (still current) V 107.3's AAA format goes all over the place, with more obscure stuff that really can't be pigeon-holed.
But no other (non-college) station can claim to be a rock station of any kind.
Thus if you want to appeal to the older, blue collar listener base, classic rock (70's and 80's stuff mostly) would be the way to go.
Now thus this mean bringing WONE (and busting out "The One for Rock and Roll" liners) up to Cleveland on 107.3, and perhaps simulcasting WAKR on 97.5 in Akron?
Who knows?

Is there a good place to find interactive demographic info like this? I'm not questioning you, I have just never found a website that will let me play around with the new demo information.
