WCBS-AM considers Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Westchester, Dutchess and Ulster counties in its market. They even give traffic reports on parts of Ulster County - the northern-most county listed there.
WKXP serves the Hudson Valley.
WABC considers Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Westchester, Dutchess, Pike, Sullivan and Ulster counties in its market. They often use promos saying "WABC - Number one AM station in [one of the above counties].

No one's going to visit the website of a station that they aren't interested to listen to.

"It's all about what you program" is only the beginning now, because the battle isn't just between (for example) PDH and HUD and RWD any more...it's between local radio and out-of-town radio and Pandora and Ipods and so forth. The stations have to be giving people something they won't find anywhere else, but how much of that are we seeing around here? There's one morning show page that hasn't been updated since 2005.
