I noticed while driving around Friday afternoon that there was interference on numerous FM stations. It got a bit annoying until I realized I was getting stations from many hundreds of miles away. I was in New Hampshire.
One local station I like is Soft AC 101.5 WWLK in Meredith NH. But it kept battling with another AC station. On my car radio, I saw "101.5 FM WLYF." That's in Miami.
Then I tried listening to 100.9 WYNZ in Westbrook-Portland ME. But I heard Contemporary Christian music, not classic hits. On my car radio, I saw "Way-FM." That must be WAYA in Ridgeville, SC, near Charleston.
Both distant stations are on the Atlantic, so those signals traveled across the ocean to New Hampshire. Other frequencies had trouble but their call letters didn't appear on my car radio.
