Actually, WTSP's tranny had an increase in power and height in the early-1980s (though it remained where it was), back when ABC was the nation's top network.

WHDH rarely aired Patriots games before they switched to NBC. The only ones they could air were the home games vs NFC teams as you said, but blackouts were common until the early 90s. Most Pats' games were on WBZ, who of course got them back a few years later when the AFC moved to CBS.

One station that willingly (so to speak) lost most of its local games as part of the switch was WDAF in Kansas City. When they switched from NBC to Fox, they lost the majority of the Chiefs games.

Didn't CBS try to get WEWS/5 Cleveland as well? That's
a Scripps-Howard station. Scripps-Howard also switched
WCPO/9 Cincinnati from CBS to ABC.

And two cities where the home team did wind up on another
channel:

St. Louis Rams moved from KMOV/4 (CBS) to KTVI/2 (Fox)
New Orleans Saints moved from WWL/4 (CBS) to WVUE/8 (Fox)

In Green Bay, the Packers moved from either WBAY or WFRV
(don't recall when WFRV went to CBS) to WGBA.

People keep on saying that, but I don't think so. WRAZ/50 was the WB in the triangle prior to the affiliate swap. 17 was a very low rent indie....

Actually, KDAF flipped right from Fox to WB on the same day as the KDFW and KTVT swap.
