Big signal move?

The second adjacent won't be a problem. With the D/U (desired/undesired) ratio at 40dB, 10 watts won't even have the interference reach the ground.

It will accept much more interference than it would create. A few pigeons flying by the Hancock might experience some interference around 700' up.

I'd love to see "Entercom" drop WKAF for an "FM Talk" Perhaps call it "WHDH" (Remember 850am used to be WHDH back in the day)? In this case, instead of all Politics, have diverse talk shows
Example
Week
Midnight-4am "America Tonight" Genesis Communications
4am-10am "Good Day" Genesis Communications
10am-1pm "Trending Today" Superadio.com
1pm-4pm "Clark Howard" Dial-Global
4pm-7pm "Redding News Review" Genesis Communications
7pm-10pm "Free Talk Live" Genesis Communications
10pm-Midnight (until 1am going into Saturday) "Geoff Metcalf" Genesis Communications
Features
Top of the hour "NBC News Update" Dial-Global
I will leave it as that for now with this one

Another ideas which someone already mentioned, that I also liked, year, bring back the (Star) format, put that on 97.7, perhaps as "Funkytown" and focus on NEW Urban AC music (which "HOT 96.9" does not currently play)

I like the first one though, regarding the "FM Talk"

Whatever happen, hope we all can enjoy?

If I were CC, I'd try to swap 101.7 for 95.3 (plus 'reasonable' considerations) then simulcast the 95.3 Cambridge and 95.3 York Ctr ME signals as Evolution 95-3 (with a bit of a broader pop-dance playlist) (WEDX Cambridge-Boston; WPDX York Ctr-Portsmouth....Evolution 95-3)

I like that as well, good idea.

I think Entercom should try 97.7 WRKO. Bring in Michael Graham and Jen O'Brien for mornings; then, Jeff Kuhner 9 to Noon, Rush, 12-3, Howie 3-7, and Todd Feinberg at night and Coast to Coast overnight. Then, have WRKO-AM as syndicated talk with a simulcast of Michael Graham and Jen O'Brien in the morning followed by Beck 9 to Noon, Clark Howard 12 to 3, Hannity 3 to 6, Mark Levin 6 to 9, Jerry Doyle 9 to midnight, Red Eye Radio overnight.

They may have to get permission from ch 7 owners to use WHDH calls, not sure. Also not sure if they would ditch WAAF on 97.7 to do talk and if so with those shows (Clark Howard et al).
I do know active rock station WCCC in Hartford switched to classic rock and listeners not happy...
is active rock losing popularity?

http://ctboom.com/the-death-of-wccc-and-active-rock-radio/

Jen Brien may be under contract to BZ; Graham currently middays with WCRN and other stations

I love the idea of more specialized local shows (read more human interest, a bit lighter) and at the same time having access to syndicated commercial talk.

Kuhner is unlistenable. I never thought I'd say it but I prefer Todd and the Felon to Mr. NEHTWERKCAPITALFUHNDINK. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

AM drive is pretty depressing from a talk perspective. D&C are pure sports, T&R are ok but repetitive, 96.9 is gone :(, WRKO has lots its mind.

I saw something on the site about about a move comming to the old wfnx translator does that mean the evolution is soon to be gone or what

No, "Evolution" is 101.7, the old WFNX translator was 101.3.

What exactly IS that accent Kuhner has?

He sounds like Balki from Perfect Strangers.

Explain how a new downtown boston commercial signal is not a big move?

Lousy signal aside, moving to the freakin' Back Bay from Gloucester? C'mon.

This isn't the end of this story, BTW. If this thing gets on the air, expect it to be sold.

*yawns

Kuhner is from Montreal and his accent is the way he over-enunciates.

btw that 103.7 in Saugus is apparently off air now. Passed thru on 128 in Lynnfield-Peabody area
and I was mostly getting WPKQ N. Conway NH with a bit of WVEI-FM from RI mixed in.

He sounds like he is from somewhere between Chicago and Milwaukee.

In a way yes though he has lived in DC/Maryland area for awhile.

Wiki on him: >>Kuhner was born in Montreal, Canada to Croatian immigrant parents. He is a graduate of Queen's University and did doctoral coursework at Ohio University. Kuhner taught Modern US History at McGill University in Montreal from 1998 to 2000

...then he went to the Washington Times etc
