Bill Heard Dealerships

Oh yes, there is an actual Bill Heard. He lives in Columbus and even has a downtown theater named after him. My mother lives down there and knows him and his wife. She said she knew something was getting ready to happen when Bill put up his $19 million (yes that's right) home up for sale a while back. Who needs a $19 million home in Columbus, GA? Good luck selling that in THAT housing market. I would be surprised if any other home in that town has anything close to that price tag. There are wealthy people down there but I can't imagine anyone wanting to part with $19 million.

I just saw video footage of Bill Heard, Jr. from January 2008, on WSB's 12:30PM News, he looks like he was headed for Patterson's Funeral Home. He did not look healthy. I know he has a son, Elliott, I hope he is in better shape.

Once again, who is Bill Herd? I have seen many dealerships over the years make up FAKE names for dealerships! Also, sometimes they use the name of somebody who is long deceased or who has sold out years ago...... The Hardy Dealerships are an example in Dallas, GA. Charles Hardy was the original owner and now there are about 15 dealerships on that road with the "Hardy" name-all with different owners. And by the way, the road is named Charles Hardy Parkway!

At last check Charles Hardy was still alive, besides the Hardy Family does their customers right. I rember Rhubarb use to advertise for them back in the day.

Why does Charles allow all of these other "hardy" dealerships on the same road? They are not "Charles Hardy" Dealerships! Who owns them?

Let's bow our head.....

Lord.....Bill Heard was a radio advocate and provided significant billing for Atlanta area radio stations.....we lost Bill to early.....Bill was one of the best radio clients who helped prevent shrinking revenue growth.....he had a very plentiful and rewarding Earthly life.....radio was one of his best friends......streets were named in his honor......but then Lord, you called Bill home......heaven now has a new selection of Chevrolet's, some unusual business practices and a big busted bubble......but now Lord, weekends in heaven will feature more free pizza.

And Lord.....let us also remember those of us who worked with Bill here on Earth....let's remember the thousands of children, or employees, of Bill who are scrambling to feed their families.....let's remember the radio AE's who will face commission chargebacks because Bill will fail to pay for the last 3 months of radio advertisement.......let's remember the radio GM's who will loose hundreds of thousands in billing they will never be able to make up.....let's remember the local talent who, at first, might be thankful for a few less weekend remotes, but will eventually miss the talent fees when doing their taxes. Let's also recognize that Bill Heard business with radio covered many salaries within programming departments. Because Bill is gone Lord, some of the programming overhead within these radio stations may have to be laid off.....the effect of Bill's passing is and will be tremendous....but we know Lord you will show us the way....show the way for those in the radio business to save themselves from more loss, more heartbreak and more death. Amen.

Overheard at a finance office at a dealership there recently.."Your job is to reel them in and close them down..If we get the piece (vehicle) back in two months we can still sell it as new..put it in the book and move on to the next goose" (presumably a goose is a potential customer..hadn't "Heard" that before.

With the economic picture the way it stands right now, don't be surprised that
more major automobile dealerships will either merge or go out of business in
the next several months, where i live here in Eastern North Carolina, there is
one owner who runs ads twice or three times per hour on one station, and does
not spend much on remotes, but with spending down, how much longer can
they spend for ad time?

Never fear, our wonderful federal gub'ment with it's endless supply of money thanks to the evil, dirty stinking rich people will be there to bail out anyone in need. Automobile dealers need not worry, 'cause just as soon as the gub'ment gets done bailing out the banks, auto manufactures and credit card people, they will be more than happy to spread some of that corn to the dealers. And we have the dirty, stinking evil rich people to thank for it. ::)
