i've also learned how to press some buttons both online and in person to get you locals wound up. good times.

This from the big Chicago native? Pretty small of you, if you ask me. Maybe you need to get a life. Again, you show yourself to be everything you accuse us of being. Hypocritical, no?

sorry, brotha, but you're not suited for the high road. "small" of me? LOL. i observe the chicago board, rarely contribute...because i don't live there anymore. i'm interested in contributing - in a few different ways - to getting better radio HERE. even if in this setting it is in the form of stirring the pot.

Unless there's been a radical switch in the past couple of years, having Willie instead of Drudge is a GREAT move.

Drudge's show was interesting because it has a quirky flavor to it. Willie, on the other hand, is a hack. I don't see how all of these second-tier Cincinnati personalities will do anything other than FLOP nationally.

I think WLW has some good talent, but I think if any of them expect to further their career on a national level, they'll have to leave the big one. WLW is willing to let their hosts syndicate, but only under their conditions, which consist of "We come first, the rest of the country is an afterthought." Heck, Premiere Radio won't broadcast Cunningham's Sunday show until one hour into the show. And in all the years McConnell has been part of Premiere, he's never had his own website like virtually every syndicated radio host. Everyone's always directed to his page on 700wlw.com.

That's an interesting point. They never really do seem to cut the strings. In the long run its their local listeners who lose when they go national.

I just read that his new show will be more entertaining than political.

I actually enjoyed one last dose of politics on Sunday and Drudge's take on the events of the weekend/week. Not every week, but at least it was an option to tune into for a while.

Unless Willie fills the same void with similar political topics I don't see how this show can survive unles he takes TONS of calls and truly interacts with his listeners.

Late Night Sunday doesn't seem like a good time for schtick.

Well, it might have less political content but let's let the listener decide if it is entertaining.
