Billy Madison

I heard this morning he is headed to Dallas with Clear Channel, anyone know what station, format etc???? That station is gonna fall flat on its face without him. I hate to see him go, one of the few funny people on that air in tulsa. IMHO.

What station did Billy Madison work for? Was he mornings? I'm so outa touch with the younger formats and the sports talk stuff. If Billy got to go to the show then I couldn't be happier for the guy. Another Tulsa talent goes to the big leagues. I wish him the best.

If someone could fill me in on who he is and what format he did I would greatly appreciate it.

Tragically Unhip,
Bob O'Shea

Heard he is leaving as well. I would like to know which station he's going to and what made him decide to do it. He and the other guys on the BMMS have complained a lot about low pay and a lack of promotion for their show. It's not surprising to me he took a better opportunity in a bigger market.
I think everyone on that show has done a great job and it will be interesting to see where it goes from here. I have been listening almost since the beginning and the show to me is syndication material.
Billy said he's taking the show's board operator, Derek a.k.a. "Bitch Boy" with him to Dallas. So, I assume Biggie and Nard will host the new show. I think that's the only way the show can continue in its current form. The BMMS has some very loyal listeners and I don't think they'd take kindly to a new show or an outsider coming in and calling the shots.
I also heard this morning the "Bitch Boy" and "Nard" characters have been doing the show free of charge, which says a lot about their determination to get a break in radio and a lot about how bad of a business radio can be.
Congratulations to Billy and good luck in Dallas. Your humor, creativity, and focus will be missed. There truly hasn't been a show as creative as the BMMS ever on Tulsa radio. I just hope it can continue....

Ok...I know now who he is. I heard their show about a year ago early one morning. Pure genius. Very funny and fast on the draw. I thought then Billy was destined for the big's. In fact, I was listening to the show with a couple of guys I was working with on a construction site and I remember commenting then that their show wasn't going to stay in Tulsa for very long. Definitely major market material and performance. I hope they richly compensate Bitch Boy. Someone outa have his ass kicked for woking a kid for free. It's just another reason I hate the bastards who dominate radio today. I'm still happy to be out of it.

Whatever CC is paying him, Renda should match. I betcha they are celebrating the news at Khits. He'll do well in Dallas, FYI I discovered he is heading to the Edge, an alternative station. Good luck Billy.

The show is big market material and is much much better than the syndicated likes of "Bob and Tom", "John Boy and Billy", "Lex and Terry", etc.... Those shows are a waste of time and are part of why people plug in their IPODS and listen to music rather than their favorite stations.
If what they say on the show is true, it's a crying shame that two of the shows contributors, even if all they do is answer phones and perform various stunts, are not getting paid. I haven't been in the media biz that long but the whole not getting paid thing is something I experienced first hand very early.
Radio is not a thriving business, nor one that treats its employees as well as it should. But, despite all the crap, it's good to see someone become successful and move on.

My youngest daughter thinks the Edge in Big D is "the bomb'. That station does very well in the DFW market. Hoozzah for Billy & Bitch Boy!

If anyone is working for free, outside of an internship, it's flat out illegal and any company doing such is putting themselves at big risk for a BIG lawsuit.

RUMORS SAY BILLY IS GOING TO DO SOME ROCK STATION DOWN THERE IN DALLAS FOR THE MORNIGN SHOW DOWN THERE.

Billy pretty much confirmed this morning that it is The Edge in Dallas. They were joking that his and Bitchboy's studio will be next door to Lex and Terry now, and that they intend to go at them pretty hard.
