Biz Radio 1110 KTEK

Every SINGLE listener of BizRadio is also a poster to this board. Seriously, people, why are you quibbling over a station with 14 listeners? You might also like to note that Westbury Middle School's girl's soccer team is considering adding a Saturday AFTERNOON game to the Saturday MORNING schedule. This will require another $18 for a referee, to be split by the 2 teams, at $9 apiece.

Is this a good move or a bad move? Discuss amongst yourselves, with great passion, and feel free to recite your full resume on this post as well. EVERYONE is awaiting your impassioned and meaningful discussion.

You know Rat, wait, you really don't have a clue. Yes, BizRadio's listener base is small, but not as small as you think. As anyone who visits this board knows, I am boisterous critic of BizRadio, and an occasional listener. I'm a business junkie and love the format. There are many things they could do better, but as to the listener base, all you have to do is listen to their ad base. It is better than it has ever been by my estimation. They seem to have long-term advertisers. Advertisers would not be that dumb to stay with any station that wasn't producing something. 1320 has been on the air for 3 years now and it's most likely that they have built an audience with probably over 1000 BizRadio key demo listeners in any AQH during the day. Unfortunately for them and savy ad buyers like myself, it's still not enough to crack the top 40 in listenership in the overall key demos. If you're looking to reach a 50+ male audience with a high net worth BizRadio is probably right up there with KODA, but there is no evidence of this.

Back to the crux of this post, BizRadio has more than 14 listeners. When they move to 1110 they will no doubt lose probably half of their audience, but if they perservere and Dan Frishberg can stay out of the way other than his radio show, they might regain that audience within the first year at KTEK. The key, however, is Frishberg's ability to let Brent Clanton run the station, which has really been that station's downfall in its first three years.

As the change takes place this Friday, piggyback 60s are running on the air this week. The 1st 30 seconds is a spot for the KTEK listeners informing them where they can find their Christian programs (100.7 The Word, KKHT) and the 2nd half of the piggyback is a 30 second promo for Bizradio 1110.

That's exactly the way it should be done. If Chuck Tiller and Brent Clanton are involved...it'll be done RIGHT!
