Black Stations - Where's the outrage?

Just yesterday, the front page of the living section of the AJC was an article about all the bands that have released anti-war songs recently, but you haven't seen nearly the response that happened when the Chicks made their statement.

And although there were a couple of recognizable names mentioned in the article you're talking about, the number of artists getting any significant country airplay would be ... drumroll please ... zero.

Makes it kind of hard to find much backlash against artists that aren't really in the public consciousness at this point. Sort of the whole "if a tree falls in the forest but no one is there..." thing.

It's funny how time changes things. The massive backlash to the Chicks came at a time where an anti-war stance was the exception. Just yesterday, the front page of the living section of the AJC was an article about all the bands that have released anti-war songs recently, but you haven't seen nearly the response that happened when the Chicks made their statement.

Especially now when the majority of the country actually opposes the war. Roger Waters even made it a point to bring it up on more than one occasion at this show at Chastain last night. I seems as though a lot of the people that disagreed with the Chicks when they first made their statement are hanging onto the anti-Chicks position now just on principle.

Didn't someone say earlier that the Chicks also talked about the country music fans being "dumb"? If that's true, maybe that's the reason...
