A 6 month article is your proof or your hypothesis?

They shouldn't let women in the military too, right?

I kinda expected you to tag your comment with "I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico," because I don't think there's any way you could say that straight-faced.

But alas, I think you're serious. And I think you need to get a grip on radio reality.

Its all about paying close attention. Nice work. ;)

I too, fear that he is serious. I could make some snarky comment about how he must represent a certain listenership, but I won't. ;)

From the P-I article:

"As an example, the suit notes that the Robin & Maynard and B.J. Shea shows share a studio. Shea's staff, the suit says, posted signs on the wall including one reading "All Women are Filthy Lying Whores." When Erickson asked station managers to remove the offensive signs, managers removed almost all materials, an action "intended to cause hostility by other employees" toward her, it says..."

If I worked around a bunch of women who posted a sign that said "All Men are Worthless Stupid Rapists", I'd be asking management to get rid of that sign too. Because it's not true and totally uncalled for. Neither are "All Women are Filthy Lying Whores." That's just someone's gross opinion, not fact. If my daughters had to work around signs like that, I'd personally come down and rip them off the walls myself.

Robin often sounded crabby in the last three years, My friend's wife, who was a loyal Robin & Maynard fan who is pretty much the same age as Robin said she was probably going through menopause and hence, the mood roller coaster and easy irritability. But I see no reason to aggravate a bad enough problem with juvenile teasing.

But if Robin had spent any time seriously listening to The Buzz prior to signing on (BJ Shea and Leykis were already in place on 100.7) she would have known that she was heading from KZOK straight to the radio equivilant of a high school boys locker room and it just might not be her cup of tea, no matter how much money was offered.

I think with all the crap this year, she should take a break and get her batteries charged again. Maybe have another go for the Robin & Maynard show in a year or two (I'm sure KISM would love some big name sparkle to their line-up...)

Robin knew EXACTLY what she was getting into by signing onto the Buzz

She's not dumb, it was "THE TOM LEYKIS STATION" "RADIO FOR GUYS"

She was commenting about it on and off air left and right, there are huge discussions in the archives here all about how many ways she knew exactly the environment that existed there, and at that time, it did not slow her down one bit, in fact she was every bit the garbage mouth that anyone else there was! Except she walked in the door like some kind of "new sheriff" as if the R&M show was going to take the station over! Several times over the course of the first few weeks they were on the Buzz she *openly* was baggin all over BJ and Leykis and basically all of their listeners. It's no shock how she made a lot of enemies there.

The whole thing stinks to high heavens anyway...

How can anyone be serious in thinking the lawsuit ruined the station? The station runied the station folks, not just one person and one incidient. It is called ratings.
Robin and Maynard have had either the morning slot OR the drive home slot since they have been in Seattle, over 20 years. BJ has been in radio over 20 years and JUST NOW got the top slot. Enough said.

Since we have been over this before and you didn't get it the first time, I am going to write this very slowly so even you can understand: it was not "Radio for Guys" when Robin and Maynard arrived at the Buzz.

Do you understand please?

Wow.

Yeah, BJ Shea and Tom Leykis are great influences on our society.

Just stupefied....

Oh pardon me - that deliniation would make ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD!

I see now the error of my ways, how dear poor Ms Erickson was a shrinking violet in the ravaging torrent of the Buzz staff and just stumbled into the storm with naught a clue, poor thing - how could she have known. If only that moniker had been adopted before they duped her into signing, she could have had a warning that may have steered her away from such a den of vipers!

The ratings did kill the station - but whose ratings were sucking the most?

BJ got the new top spot, R&M got dumped in the trashbin. Enough said

Let's chat next fall when BJ's contract runs out and see where he is in his big boy slot. It appears to me that they are attempting to make KISW a new talk format, they are just doing it very slowly. Rockers will not accept that in Seattle!

And there is no evidence that R&M got dumped, if Entercom did let them go, they had to pay them for the three remaining years left on their contract. And trust me, that is quite a huge dollar amount.

Time will only tell.

KISW has had talk in the morning for a long time. I predict that the dropoff in ratings from Stern to BJ will make Black Monday look like a speed bump.
