I think it is a safe assumption to say wlrs will never be streaming but i also wonder if mainline will ever start streaming any of there other stations? Is the max streaming yet? My bad they will be soon they always put up that christmas stream lol

Streaming is easy, paying for the concept is a challenge. $$$ goes to the content delivery company, $$$ to the PRO's and if you are unable to produce song title/artist/CD on your player in house then you must work out a deal with a third party which will cost more $$$.

I understand everything you are saying in those last two posts, despite the rude remarks in the first which I will bypass, but it has said "Coming soon" since around last spring. I know all about the royalty costs but this is a station I have wanted to listen to the most for some time. If LRS does flip before streaming, I'm just going to say to hell with Mainline and hopefully another company will take over it who knows what they're doing. From what I have read on here they are just not doing a spectacular job on that station - it could be so much better in so many ways. They could have a better signal for one thing and hotP has been telling me he doesn't care much for the current jocks that is on there or maybe now was on there.
In NYC, still can't believe that CD 101.9 never ever streamed. They had enough money to do that and there are many office buildings which would have blocked the signal. So they kept that format on HD radio but that doesn't stream either so stations like this are really messed up and for people who don't live in that area or have never been there like me, miss out. I can't stand my local stations - this is why I like streaming radio so much and satellite just doesn't do it for me. It's also why I keep pressing for more streaming.

That's really easy to say. It's something else to make it happen. Suffice it to say that if that station could have legally gone on the air back in the 90s with a great signal, they would have done so. You can't just get a bigger transmitter, or move the antenna to a better location. You have to both cover your sity of license, and not cause any interference to all the other stations out there from 104.5 to 105.7, and 94.3 / 94.5.
It's not Mainline's fault that the signal is crappy.

Depends on how you define crappy. Blue Chip/Radio One/ Main Line all want that signal to do something it's not designed to do...cover Louisville. It covers the city of license fine, Shepherdsville.
radiorob2.0 said:That was the problem 15 years ago when it signed on. It covers Shepherdsville like a champ, Louisville not so much. Somehow the signal was able to upgrade to the equivalent of a 6kw class A in the last ten years. The big problem revolves around the occasional skips. I don't know what it is like today but back then 105.1 Shepherdsville would disappear and WUBE Cincinnati would take over. It makes it hard to sell advertising when the client can't even receive the signal.

Don't ya just love it when the federal gub'ment solves a problem that's not really there? Even as a young sprout when 80-90 was passed, I could see problems mixing classes on channels like that.

It's only bad if you happen to have one of the little guys. Then you get PDs and GMs that want you to "fix it".
There is an LPFM in Owensboro on 107.7 that calls me every summer accusing me of turning my power up to overwhelm them. I have to go over the whole explanation every year.
