apparently, the injuns weren't too lazy to put a boot in your @$$, huh bob?

hee haw

hee haw

what a &%#@

Yes you get the idea. You cant say things like that. Being in radio as long as he has you would think he would know better than that. Not even someone as huge as Imus was spared when he said certain things to offend certain types of people. If Imus couldnt, why the hell would Bob Dumas think he could get away with something so foolish?

I dont care who my talent is, you do or say something like that you are gone. period!

I feel sorry for Harlow. He's a good guy and deserves better. That being said, I think BD makes it through this one. Not that my heart would be broken if he didn't...

ah c'mon, don't be over sensative. it's all in fun. if u even listened to the show you would know that all of them pick on everyone. white, black, yellow, red...whatever. it's fair game.

hmmm, I wonder "how Randi puts up with him" or why Dick isn't throwing a pity party. HELLO! Ratings = Money. G is a stud in ratings and billing in large part to Bob for many years.

and Injuns don't wear boots...they wear moccasins...

and the accepted venacular is "American Indian" dittohead...don't be a "dumas" ::)

i never was a huge bob fan. however, i must admit that i appreciate the way he pushes to envelope and thumbs his nose at the pc crowd,

i live in boston now. i can assure you that if some morning jock got on the air here and said something like, 'it is a proven fact, white southerners are dumb" it would get a ton of laughs and no one would protest.

yeah, and i seem to recall a certain hideous-looking morning guy for WFAN who made CBS a pile o' ca$h. what was his name again?

more detail will give you an idea of how "over the line" this was.

oh, but i forgot, the tumor made bob closer to GAWD and JAY-SUS and a more caring soul, right?

yeah, and i've got a ten-inch...FOOT!

As one hard-working Native American with almost 20 years in the radio biz, I have to say that I was offended. It still surprises me when those kind racial statements are made, especially in a society that one would think has evolved beyond such things. Ethnocentric views are obviously alive and well in Raleigh.

I remember a Native American history course I had taken at the University of Maine in Orono two years ago (yes, I'm an educated Native American with a 3.9 GPA...imagine that), a young student innocently made a broad statement about the Native culture. He was unwilling to change his view, even after he was corrected by three Native students in class, including me. After the class he came to me in somewhat of an apologetic way, but still tried to defend his position. My advice to him? I said if he dared to step out of his comfort zone, spend time with Native people in their environment. I guaranteed his position would change. He walked away in a huff.

I now offer this same advice to Bob Dumas. I trust G108 management will do the right thing.

Calling them lazy was way too far, but the quote about a single tear running down your father-in-law's cheek is pretty funny. I'm sure most of his listeners laughed...after their parents explained the joke to them.

ok, THAT'S FUNNY! And it gets back to the point: How the HELL does this guy (Dumas) appeal to 23-yer-old women (or 35 for that matter)?

I still say fire him. Oh and if you still call Native Americans "Indians" you are flat out ignorant. I'm sure Bob wouldnt have liked it if George Jefferson went on his show and said he was "a lazy honkey".

And I would love to hear these "statistics" Dumbass cites. What's that fom, Bob, the Bureau of Laziness? Are Native Americans 20 or 30 percent lazier than, say, Eskimoes (Inouye)?

Does anyone understand satire? Does anyone understand "toungue in cheek"? Does anyone understand that sometimes to make a point you make an exaggerated statement to show the ridiculousness of how people are? Since these staements by BOB are SOOOO far over the edge I can't help thinking he was trying to make a point about how over sensitive people are and how old stereotypes are still being used too much. In the way everyone has reacted I think he proved his point.

You might be reading too much into Bob's mindset there.
He was exaggerating to be funny to some small group out there.
I don't think we could assume that Bob is going around 'challenging stereotypes' and 'how over sensitive people are.'
That's not really an established part of his schtick. 'Pushing the envelope at 6 am' and 'making a name for Bob Dumas' is more his thing.

RING THE BELL, BIG DADDY! WE GOT US A WINNER! BOB LOVES HIM SOME BOB!

BD is not the "satire" type for the sake of breaking down social stereotypes. We ain't talking about Carlin here, bub!

i personally know bobby and greg. (Bob Dumas and Gregory Richardson).
greg is as "laid-back" as bobby is confrontational.
bottom line: as the Great Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. said:
people who hate me still buy tickets.
everyone gets well on this one.

I am NOT a Bob fan!!!!, The same idea holds true for Bob, Imus, Bill O'Reilly, etc... Words will only effect you, if you allow them too. This is why radios and televisions come with OFF switches and CHANGE channel buttons.

I am a Sean Hannity Fan(and Rush, Bill O'Reilly, Mark Levin, Laura Ingram, etc...) It amazes me how many people call their show and just BMW (Bitch, Moan, Whine) about them. When you listen or watch these individuals, you know what kind of material you are going to hear.

I thought the FCC (and Al Sharpton ;) ) make the rules of the media, not the public. I know advertisers get upset and BMW, and pull of thier ads. Give the advertisers who stay a break on their spots, they will advertise more, thus replacing the spine-less ones who left.

If you have good talent, support him or her!! (unless laws have been broken). Here's an idea, let's say bad things about Bob and everything will be Kosher again!

Bad words about Stuart: I am an overweight, loud, rude person! (at least this is what people tell me, I will admit to being overweight, and probably loud and rude :-[ ) ............only words.

Stuart

what a great way to head into the spring book...talk of the town and most of these radio rooms..hey he has everyone talking and listening..all for free..and everyone did spell his name right...his rap is no worst then the bashing that goes on everyday on radio and tv..not that it is right...but it works
