Bob Dumas in trouble again...

A few people on here and on other places have mentioned the fact that G105 would never fire the showgram, and that If they did the station would be in ruins.

While I agree that the showgram won't be fired, and that the station more or less revolves around the show, it's rediculous to assume that the station would fall apart completely. The music absolutely sucks, but the station has a solid sound, strong personality, and top live jocks all day. We're talking about clear channel here; to have live and local jocks 6:00AM-12:00AM, all weekend long and to pull top ratings all day is impressive. Yes, a lot of the showgram's listeners tune out after ten, but the station has high ratings all day and the showgram doesn't simply apeal to classic rock and country fans--not at all.

As I had mentioned in an earlier post, I'm sure that G-105 management will do the right thing; I stand by that. I've already forgiven Bob Dumas for his remarks.

Now on the brink of 50 years of age, my family and I have heard just about every racial slur that could be cast upon a Native American...most of them coming from adults. I've also been on the receiving end of some beatings soley based on my race. And based on some comments made in this thread, there are some that obviously have racially elevated themselves above others. It's too bad, but you're forgiven, too. Always in addressing this issue, my advice to everyone is to get to know the people; trust me, your perspective will change. Education and an open mind is a wonderful thing.

Racial comments have never been an easy thing to dance around in broadcasting, especially in this "PC" world. It's always best to avoid them, for the betterment of one's career, certainly for the company you work for, and for the sake of societal evolution.

My best to Bob Dumas and his family.
