Bob Lonsberry fired from KNRS

Yikes! I'm with Rox, I think HDBG was just joking around. Even a joke on a Lonsberry thread gets people fired up! ;) To quote Rodney King, "can't we all just get along"? ;D

It was Larry O'Brien of WCFL fame. "Cap'n Showbiz" Atkins was a legendary Drake-format programmer and a classic - and class - radio character. Thanks for the civil followup, Dr. Jim.

>>>Jus' doin' m'best Warren Christopher/Henry Kissinger shuffle, Robert (balancing democratic and republican Secretaries of State... notice how both names have the same number of syllables.) Ah lurnt it takin' that PeeDee 101 course by mail from the Columbia School of One-Hunnert-One Broadcast Careers (ref., "Don Imus.")

Holy cow!

Even though I'd erroneously called him Kevin O'Brien and was off by a year, it turns out it is the same Larry O'Brien I remember from WYSL Buffalo! Did mornings. He was a great jock. I think one of his female character voices ("Maudy, the single woman," who sounded like Danny's "Engaged Woman") actually once said, as an off-mic aside, "Touch me and I'll cut your balls off." No, he didn't get fired for that.

They say there are six degrees of separation, except maybe on this board. Rochester-Pittsburgh-Buffalo-WYSL in the 60s-WYSL now-Savage-Heydeybegone-Siroxalot-Pastrick. Sweet Jeebus! This is what Sting must have been thinking when he sang Syncronicity. (BTW, I'm thinkin' there's an inherent danger caused by using too many emoticons.)

Okay, now let's sign the peace pact and get lunch at Chef's. Word is Ken Kiedrowski and Paul Palo will pick up the tab.

Anytime you'd like to compare your resume' of accomplishment in this industry....bring it. Then we'll check the "credibliity tote-board."

Hey Big Fella,

If you're having to defend your accomplishments and compare resumes let me just tack one on the board for ya to know that you are the original Dr. Love who taught me how to do it w/o the pauses and also the tutor that taught me Top 40 radio '60's style in the midst of song name, song artist and positioner.
You're a true radio legend who has stayed local and will always be remembered. Shoot - I guess that's two tacks on the board.
-Back to indexing my 45's. I think I'm on number 1428...........

Whew! Lighten up, Barrister. I think that HDBG was joshin'

This, in fact, is true. It was totally tongue in cheek. (Hence the 5 or 6 smileys) Unfortunately...this one backfired on me.
(so it goes)

Savage IS one the the most respectable players in the game... (hence the snipit of opportunity for some fun)

I am publically apologizing to Savage, here and now, for any offense he may have taken. It was unintended, nor intended to create a stir among the contributors. To this end, I shall shuffle off, with tail between legs and whimpering. Mama said there'd be days like this.

Respectfully,
HDBG

No apologies necessary, HD. C'mere, you big lug, and let me give you a noogie.

GROUP HUG!!!!! :p C'mon, everyone! Let's get back to work! We've got production waiting in the inbasket!
