Brandmeier

Thanks for the update on Buzz. I'm glad he's still working in Chicago. That's where he belongs. But I just don't see him working well with Dahl. I can't see Buzz taking all the BS that Dahl usually dishes out. Thanks for the word on Kev too. I hope he's doing well going back to his roots!!
Now, we just have to wait and see if Garry Meier gets a new job.

Won't happen as long as his wife is his agent.

Saw Meier on the street yesterday, he looked older and well dressed for a guy with no gig

Is there any word on his employment status? Is he currently doing nothing at all?

I asked about Brandmeier. I didn't ask for a rant about how great Sirius is. I think Sirius and XM
are crap...absolute crap. The Stones channel on Sirius claims to play almost EVERY Stones song
ever recorded, but within 12 hours, you'll hear ''Start Me Up'' and ''Brown Sugar'' at least twice.
So much for a ''deep'' playlist. If the Stones channel has a tight playlist, then you can bet the
other frickin' channels... ALL of them... on Sirius do too. Why would I wanna hear a tight playlist
and PAY for it when I can hear a tight playlist for FREE on FM? AND get local traffic, news, etc
too? It's obvious that Sirius is dead...XM too. Howard Stern's career and notoriety have
imploded since he went into orbit. How many listeners signed up to follow him to Sirius? Nine?
Ten? What a joke. Put ANY channel of Sirius on for 12 hours...just let it play...and see how
many times you hear songs repeated. It's no frickin' different than FM. If you wanna pay 15
bucks a month for crap you can get for free elsewhere, go ahead. But if I were you, I'd save
the cash and get a nice mullet haircut, or maybe go see your favorite Winger tribute band.

Your crazy. Satellite radio is blowing the doors off testical radio and the "totally usless" HD radio? What the hell is that?

Stern is exploding. All time ratings and syndication. Don't hate the game 'cause ya can't afford it dude.

And the best damn thing about sat radio is NO DJ'S!!!!

They suck!!

Bring on the muzik BABy!!

Howard has a fraction of the audience he had on traditional radio. Satellite's ''blowing the doors''
off FM? Look at how many listeners Sirius/XM has, and look at traditional radio's audience numbers.
Looks like old fashioned radio wins by a long shot. Fact is, people AREN'T buying satellite radio in
huge numbers because satellite has done a miserable job of selling it's benefits. If people want
a jukebox, they'll put their Ipod or cd player on shuffle. Look at the stock price of Sirius and
XM......they are both DYING. D Y I N G. You may hate annoying dj's, but isn't Howard more
annoying than any of them? Howard's miserable audience figures on Sirius cannot and do not
compare at all to the audience he had when he was working for CBS/Infinity. You may love Howard,
but the fact is, people could care less about him because they can get LOCAL programming and
information simply by turning on the old FM or AM. Can I afford 12 bucks a month? Yes. Will
I pay it just to hear Howard? No. Will I pay it to hear a damned jukebox on 50 channels when
I can just put cd's in and hit ''shuffle''? No. There are better options than satellite radio. Many
better options.

Word has it that Sirius and XM are about this close to a merger...neither one is making any money so the merger makes sense...by the way they're not making any money because they can't get enough subscribers to cover their overhead...doesn't sound like they're blowing the doors off anyone....sounds more like the bank will be locking their doors to me....siriously!

Since we've gone from discussing the Great Johnny to slamming the Blaze (where's he been since he's been outed, must be enjoying his millions I guess) and slamming satellite radio, I may as well chime in. The heck with satellite. If I want all Stones, I'll pop in a CD. I sure don't need it to hear Howard. I can tell you tomorrow's show..."are those real, do you do anal, and will you get naked for us." It's only a matter of time until he comes crawling back to real radio. Wouldn't it be great to see him get sued for not fulfilling his contract like he sued Evergreen for not fulfilling theirs when they fired his butt.

It will Never happen. Howard is the mogal of all radio. He has a one way no cut. Meaning he can dump out anytime without penalty.

500 million, not a bad deal boyzzzz

Sattelite is the way to go....CD's and RADIO suck!

I know that I am getting Sirius for Christmas, and I can't wait! I haven't listened to the music channels enough to comment, but there are also talk programs you can't here anywhere else. Plus, they carry the NFL, NBA and NHL. Without Sirius, I would have to pay for three separate packages so I could here the games on line. I do already subscribe to Game Day Audio with MLB, so that is why I didn't go with XM. And, if Howard was with XM, I'd still go with Sirius. Besides, thanks to the brilliance of CBS Infinity for putting the Bulls games on FM rather than The Score or WBBM, I can no longer here the games on traditional radio as WCKG doesn't reach the Milwaukee area. Now, I can here Neil Funk again!

I hardly ever listen to music on satellite. My wife pays $13/month for Sirius and the sound quality SUCKS. She has a brand new Stiletto and it is no different (let's not even start with Stiletto's HORRID reception). It amazes me that so many people actually think satellite audio quality is acceptable, or would even dare to compare it to analog FM, or better yet, uncompressed CDs or DVDs. The louder the volume, the more profound the difference. Buzzsaw and Hard Attack make me cringe -- all the treble sounds like it's coming from the opposite end of a hollow tube lined with loose tin foil.

About the only place I ever "need" satellite is crossing central Pennsylvania, Montana, or western North Dakota where there are hardly any AM or FM stations at all. But then, I also have CDs and an iPod. 192kbps MP3's on an iPod sound phenomenally better than satellite, too.

Satellite is great for sports or talk, but as for music, YUCK.
