Does this mean another firing or did someone quit?
I am assuming it is Stephanie, any thoughts.

Hmm...well, Steph is the APD and Scotty is the MD. Both positions would need to know Selector so it's anyone's guess.

I don't normally listen to WAZY's morning show, but I guess I'll have to take a listen for the next few days to see either who is leaving, who left, or who was let go.

It could even be that they realized that their CURRENT morning show didn't meet any of the requirements that are mentioned in the job posting?

:D !

Well Good Luck to whoever is smart enough to leave AMP. The Angotti's are liars and crooks! Ask any of their past employees. I think there is more self respect to standing in a food line than working for those lunies! It is going down in flames! They will have a hard time finding anyone else that would lower themselves to be under their direction! They dont have a clue how to even be human! I heard that Ampsters across the state are jumping ship! Good for them. You know, one is bad enough, but then there are two. Remember the old saying that the apple doesnt fall far from the tree?

I'm hearing that stef is on the one on the outs. SO its only a matter of weeks before she comes back and no one notices for a month....again. Doesn't that make Scotty the senior most guy on that station now?

No offense to Stephanie or anything, but there are a LOT of other people behind the mic in Lafayette that have been around for many more years and are very well-known.

Bob Vizza, Rick Mummey, Strange, Harv, Marley, Gary Lee Michaels, Steve Clark, and Bryan McGarvey to name a few have been around much longer. Granted, she is the longest-running person over at WAZY, though, and yes NiteTimeDelight, Scotty will be the one at Z with the most senority...and just think...he's only been there a year!

Does anyone know where Stephanie is going?

Yeah, what was that all about? I heard she transferred to U93 in South Bend, was there for a couple weeks, then came back to Z. I'm VERY surprised AMP allowed her to do that unless it was just a publicity stunt in the first place.

Yup, Steph is leaving and her co-host isnt far behind. These are the facts. ;D

I for one, am surprised that Stephanie lasted as long as she did. With Gavin, she was OK - but with Scottie, the AM show just sucked. Gavin at least had some skills (even though he wouldn't shut up), but Scottie needs to take radio 101 courses. And Stephanie wasn't the one to train him, as she needed radio 102 courses.

What's surpising is that the sound of the station has somewhat improved with new jingles and imaging, but I hear that the consultant (Tim Moore) is already out...

That whole building needs an enema...

I, for one, would give scotty more time. How long was he in at mornings? Had he had any previous experience in the morning? I never saw them as a good match to begin with. Maybe they will find someone with better chemistry for him. But I'm not ready to cash out on a guy who's been in the a.m. a whole 2 months. He must be doing something right over there to be in the building for more than a year

Oh Snap! WAZY has Otters on the radio!?!?!?!?!? man I'm way outta the loop. Looks like that consultant has some fresh "out of the box" thinking. And I admire that.

All the consultant did was implement some common sense thinking with the imaging change, logo and so on. Its that same common sense thinking that probably cost him his job.

Scotty is a much better everything compared to his co-host. They should give him a little while longer to prove himself with someone else on the otherside of the mic.

Scotty is leaving too? Good. I thought he was well enough for nights, but I just think he need more seasoning before moving him into a morning show. He's wasn't bad, but he wasn't anything great either. If it wasn't for Steph the morning show would've crashed. And if they think Scotty is hold up the morning show after she is finally gone....sheesh. I hope that's not what they're thinking...

Morning Drive is no place to train a new jock. If...and it's a big if...Scotty has skills, he needs to hone them at night before trying to run a morning show. He was put there because there was no one else after Autistic fired Gavin. He is NOT a morning jock. He sounds like a kid, he reacts like a kid, and his show sounds like it's geared towards kids.

The station has already blown off everyone above 25...with Scotty on the mic in mornings, they're going to blow off everyone above 17. Put him back at night where he belongs and get someone in mornings who know's what they're doing...like maybe their new PD.

Let's cut to the chase:

Young un-experienced people work for cheap. It has nothing to do with talent over there.

"Seasoning" Scotty would mean having that many more full-time airstaff and it's not going to happen. Never.

The hours-on-the-air-to-fulltime-airstaff ratio is completely out of whack over the many Artisitic stations.

GOOD EXPERIENCED FULL TIME PEOPLE COST MONEY and NOBODY'S PAYING over there.

True. Personally, I would like to see them get rid of Scotty all together and just revamp the whole morning show with this semi-clean slate theyll have now. Whether he is the "senior" person over there or not, he still has a ton to learn about delivery, timing, working with callers, and just about everything else. WAZY has an opportunity here now to try something new. Just hope they use it.

Bill,

I'll try not to slobber all over you too much, but I enjoyed your comment.
You didn't just say, "Yeah! Scotty sucks!" and then log off.

Promoting the next guy in line or whoever happens to have their hand in the air at the time doesn't seem to be cutting it over there. OR just finding someone else from one of the other Artistic stations because they know they'll tow the company line doesn't involve much thinking.

If it's a choice between a different jock for every shift after the book comes OR sticking with somebody (even if they are mediocre) for a couple years so people get used to hearing them, I'd go for the latter. If they are expecting to dominate the market with every station for every daypart and still pay the bill to carry Bob and Tom, they are dreaming and should start selling off what they just bought as soon as possible.
