Most adults do not enter their prime income earning years until they hit their 40s and 50s
(to spend on sponsors), and are more likely to NOT listen to music - that IS your target audience if you are talk!

Don't ALL people get older eventually? Those that are stupid and in their 20s now (at least I was) don't typically listen to the same POP 93.1 stations when they get into their mid-30s - 40s.
I don't follow that philosophy of and aging market that will just evaporate for IBC - there will always be a top 3-4 news/talk station in a market the size of Indy. Therefore, an IBC will always do well - as I said before - PEOPLE DO GET OLDER - even the YOUNG ones eventually get older.
ten_four said:Did you mean to say WXNT? WIBC has four live shows (5 if you count the sports talk with Kevin Lee after Steve Simpson) a news staff of 12, one of the top shares 12+ in the market and broadcast from one of the most (if not THE most) beautiful broadcast centers in Indiana.
Steppenwolf said:I was wondering how a subject as boring as WXNT could be getting so many posts. It's because most of the posts are about WIBC!

bigtime said:WXNT just keeps providing more material. today at 12:47pm they ran a newscast saying "it's 12:30" and then a traffic report that was half an hour old by then. At least they had the right day running. That's better than what they did yesterday.

Arguing over a station, who has been in the format for several years, and has an AQH of 3500 M-F 6a7p to show for it (I mean seriously, WIBC at low power, has twice that number of listeners hearing Ed Bousman and "God is Just a Prayer Away" on early Sunday morning). Shouldn't we be doing something more productive...say beating up on Oasis for lying to his listeners and advertisers about the number of commercials he plays.

Yes, but they're a much better news source than WIBC. Just ask all the people on this thread.

I'll take some automation miscues in exchange for much more entertaining shows... any day of the week. Pidge sounds like my grandfather rambling on at the holiday dinner table with everyone just nodding and humoring his pointless rants. And he's better than Wilson!
