Danny Alvis, a radio talk host for Wilmington's THE BIG TALKER FM died in a plane crash near Yanceyville in Caswell County, NC. Details are sketchy, but he apparently was flying from Wilmington to Danville, VA. to pick up a guest for his Wednesday evening show. He never arrived in Danville. A search was initiated when the FAA was notified of his missing plane.
The wreckage was located near Farmers Lake, southwest of Yanceyville, along with a body apparently identified as that of Alvis. He was a financial planner in the Wilmington area, and did a regular Wednesday night talk show on THE BIG TALKER FM.
