Breaking News - Wilmington Talk Host Dies in Plane Crash

Danny Alvis, a radio talk host for Wilmington's THE BIG TALKER FM died in a plane crash near Yanceyville in Caswell County, NC. Details are sketchy, but he apparently was flying from Wilmington to Danville, VA. to pick up a guest for his Wednesday evening show. He never arrived in Danville. A search was initiated when the FAA was notified of his missing plane.

The wreckage was located near Farmers Lake, southwest of Yanceyville, along with a body apparently identified as that of Alvis. He was a financial planner in the Wilmington area, and did a regular Wednesday night talk show on THE BIG TALKER FM.

We have been covering the crash all afternoon, and our condolences go out to the family of Alvis and the staff of THE BIG TALKER.

not telling where I live. But if they had to issue a search...would that explain the low flying plane flying very low to the ground above my house the other day ?

either that or it might have been for the new GIS arial pics

In that case, it was likely the CAP searching for the missing aircraft.

By the way, and I don't mean to make light or take anything away from the sadness over a loss of life, but Alvis was a Financial Planner who did one hour a week on the air.
