710 ESPN Seattle Sets New Lineup

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/180743/710-espn-seattle-sets-new-lineup/

https://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/189996/kiro-a-710-espn-seattle-unveils-new-lineup

Starts September 30th

The moves include upping "SEATTLE SPORTS AT NIGHT" evening personalities STACY ROST and JAKE HEAPS to join TOM WASSELL for middays noon-3p, filling the co-host slot left vacant with GROSBY's retirement and BOB STELTON's move to join DAVE WYMAN and JIM MOORE for afternoons 3-7p. STELTON replaces DANNY O'NEIL, who is moving to 7-10a with former ENTERCOM Sports KILT-A/HOUSTON morning host PAUL GALLANT. "BROCK & SALK" co-host BROCK HUARD will join "DANNY AND GALLANT" three times a week at 8a (PT), with former SEAHAWKS wide receiver MICHAEL BUMPUS also appearing regularly on the show.

I applaud KIRO (Espn 710) for a brilliant roll-out of major changes in their line-up. They treated it like a "tease", unveiling new information over a period of days. This is an excellent way to introduce the audience to big changes. Radio 101 done to perfection.
Bravo!

KIRO 710 New Lineup

Listened to parts of 710's new lineup on day one. A few observations.

Danny and Gallant--Paul Gallant sounded professional and up on Seattle sports. Offered a nice counterpoint to Danny.

John Clayton--He a great analyst, but I've not found him strong as an interviewer and he's weak on non-football topics.

Tom, Jake and Stacy--Jake is very comfortable on radio, and his analysis is more understandable than Hugh M (on the other sports channel). Stacy can hold her own and its great to see her elevated. Mike Salk will be a daily guest around 12:30.

Bob, Dave and Moore--This might be the best pairing of the day. The three fit as if they'd been together for years.

I know it only the first day and time will tell if this shuffle sticks and affects ratings. On the whole 710 is far more listenable than 950. In other words 710 is the varsity team and 950 is JV.

Go Hawks!

Salk and the producer blathering yesterday in addition to the three hosts of the show made for terrible radio.
