oooohhh the possibilitys......... maybe a station that plays certain music at different time slots,, maybe even give us some oldies and dance music. What do ya say bruce.......

I hear Jeff just gave him 1070 after Barack Obama wrote him a stimulus check
for $20,000,000. The new Quinn format will be Soul, mixed with Bluegrass,
Big Bands, Classical, Classic Country, Oldies, Alternative, and Pirate Ship songs. Everyday will be Talk like a Pirate Day.

You must be joking!!!!!!!!!!!

If Randy M could get some stations with a good signal around here, you might see some good radio wars happen, Randy has made several stations in the past collapse.

I don't see radio changing around here unless someone like Randy finds a way to enter the Indpls. area then you may hear some very aggressive radio stations.

I'd listen to that!

The Jack that became famous in Canada was a mixture of different kinds of music. We never had the
real Jack here.

I would love to see someone breathe some new life into radio. But, they would need twenty million just
to give it a shot.

The first station I would get into a radio war with around here is WTTS, so Randy could buy it, this would require 2 class A stations 1 in Bloomington, other in Indpls, 50 kW station between Bloomington and Indpls, and a 25kW may be enough to cut WTTS ratings in half maybe enough to do damage.

Yes I believe if Randy had a station that would be the first station to aim at, take another station right at them in a very aggresive way.

Yes this is what Central Indiana needs is someone that will cause some big radio wars.

Very bad idea. You might make a 1 or 1.2 in the ratings. An alternative
station such as we hear in college towns or in major cities on the east
coast would do better. Classic Hits is a better idea yet.

Not a bad idea if you wanted to buy WTTS, if Randy Michaels done it WTTS would have a battle.

But, WTTS has a strong base in Bloomington. I don't think Randy would
be interested in coming to Indiana to take on a Bloomington station. He
has more ambition and ego than that.

What's wrong with Classic Hits? That might be good for a 5 or better!

Randy is looking at smaller markets right now, yes I think if he could get something around here it's very possible.

He would want something like WTTS with a signal in Indpls.

Yes, I like classic hit's but if you want to own another station you would have to hurt it. The billing determines what a station can be worth on top of what they want, you can see the value just like a car that is in good shape or banged up.

Bruce Quinn wants you to think he is doing it all for fun. Bruce wants you to believe he is playing
his favorite music.

And, he must be doing something right. He has been doing it his way for 35 years.

I must laugh though when Bruce says down with the moneymen in this business because everyone
knows he has made millions himself .

The FCC forgave Bruce and let him own several radio stations. But this is
not the case in England. The British took him from a pirate radio boat in
handcuffs. Don the chief engineer of Radio One has a newspaper clipping
of this.

I have met wonderful, talented, and creative people in broadcasting over the years. Many of them
have stories that surpass mine and I would prefer to read them. I don't think the character whom
is the subject of this thread is that remarkable. There are many great broadcasters in Indiana.

You know, I would love to get my hands on a fifty thousand watt stick in Indy. Let's just say it would
be something new and different.

Yes Bruce you are right...

There is very talented people, when Randy operated Jacor he was giving the bigger broadcast companies everything they didn't want, Q 105 in Tampa was a good station, and Randy took the Power Pig up against Q 105. Heard Randy took WLW 700 AM from near last to the number 1 station.

I heard a old saying if you can't beat them you buy them, then sometime after CC bought Jacor.

I think if Randy found a way to get a station in Indpls, you may hear aggressive radio and big battles could be possible with the competition until he can acquire another station.

Bruce with 50k? Maybe an expensive hobby to a VERY expensive hobby.

let me put it another way, it would be like Stevie Wonder buying the Mona lisa.

Put a 50kw staion in martinsville with a Rhythmic ac or oldies format and fire the signal straight into indy, bloomington and columbus..........

Wrong. Bruce never bought a painting or a radio station. He's more like the blind guy who painted the picture in
the first place.
I know he barely had the financiel resources to get a station off the ground. That's unlike some of you who had
the resources and ran radio stations completly into the ground.
