Bruce with 50k? Maybe an expensive hobby to a VERY expensive hobby.

let me put it another way, it would be like Stevie Wonder buying the Mona lisa.

Wrong. Bruce never bought a painting or a radio station. He's more like the blind guy who painted the picture in
the first place.
I know he barely had the financiel resources to get a station off the ground. That's unlike some of you who had
the resources and ran radio stations completly into the ground.

It does seem Bruce Quinn's sharpest critics here are people who lost their ass or lost someone elses ass.

As long as he gets a license and operates legally (like the rest of us) I have no issue with him (or anyone else) having a station. There are likely those who could put 50kw to better use and those who would waste it more than Mr Quinn. The listeners will sort it out. If it is a success it will fund itself ... if not he could always sell it to EMF.

There are many people Bruce Quinn has helped in the radio industry. Either finding frequencies for them or making station's operational. I have talked to some of these people and know they are very thankful. He probably could have made a lot of money keeping that information and ability to himself. Instead he chose to share his talents and know how.

I hear Jeff just gave him 1070 after Barack Obama wrote him a stimulus check
for $20,000,000. The new Quinn format will be Soul, mixed with Bluegrass,
Big Bands, Classical, Classic Country, Oldies, Alternative, and Pirate Ship songs. Everyday will be Talk like a Pirate Day.

Don't forget Alternative Polka:

Thanks! Polkas are great. But Polkas only mix with more and more polkas. I'd have to go all
polka all the time. If I was in Cleveland I think it would be great. However, they are now in my
personal collection.

There's a certain area of Northwest Ohio that polka would do well in. In fact, 30 years ago there were a lot of polka shows on the air in that area.

In high school, I listened to WNAP from Indy in Springfield, Ohio. Sometimes, WZAK from Cleveland
would come in over them playing polkas. That was kind of fun to hear.

On RFD TV, you can watch "Big Joe's Polka Show". Check local listings....

Where Bruce got his Pirate name

Around 1980, he was involved in pirate stations in England, Ireland, Australia, and the USA. The
newspapers called him The Flying Dutchman. It was only after he was busted by the British Post
Office and the FCC that most knew his real name.

Quinn took his pirate name from an old legend.
