I'm just curious, what is it specifically you like about Suits?
Is that because he was
there before and you know him or you think he is truly worth listening to? I noticed it said
he was returning to Seattle to spend time with his family. I may be incorrect but I don't think it was his choice.
As someone who works in the industry, it's often hard for me to feel the same as listeners do. When someone gets canned, I'm never shocked, hurt, surprised, etc. With that said, I was truly pissed off when Suits was let go at KVI. I was a P1. Reason being, he was interesting, funny, and open minded. He had a very nonchalant attitude about everything, which I happened to like. For talk, he was better than the alternatives we had here in Seattle at the time.
I'm just happy that it's a local talent coming back to Seattle and not another tape delayed syndicated show. In addition, it sounds a lot like this was Suits choice:
Tim Conway Jr. will replace Bryan Suits 7-10 p.m. weeknights on KFI/640 AM starting Monday, Jan. 18, the station announced Friday.
"Bryan came to us and said he wanted to move back home to Seattle where his family lives," said program director Robin Bertolucci. "Tim is a huge talent and we are very glad to have him on board in a larger capacity."
Suits joined KFI Jan. 17, 2008. He was later teamed with conservative talker Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, a former MTV host known as "Kennedy." She left the show last September to do "Music in the Morning" on 98.7 FM.
In a KFI staff e-mail Friday morning, Bertolucci wrote, "The good news is that Bryan will continue to host the "Dark Secret Place" on Sundays (2-4 p.m.) from his new home base and you will hear him filling in here and there on KFI.
"We are sorry to see Bryan go and wish him and his family all the very best. Bryan's last regular show will be Friday night, Jan. 15. Bryan has some exciting stuff brewing in Seattle but I'll let him share that with you when he can."
