BRYAN SUITS SHOW MINUS KENNEDY

Just heard a promo with no mention of Kennedy in the show title. What happened? Did she want to focus only on the KYSR morning show? A new baby and two shows understandably too much? I have a hard time listening to Suits by himself. Kennedy made the show barely listenable, IMO.

It was in Don Barret's LA Radio.com this morning. Also mentioned in a snarky manner on Handel. The official line is that she elected to devote her energies to the 98.7 morning show but I always thought that this would be inevitable given the long day she would have to endure doing a live morning show and an evening talk show as well. Now Suits can sink on his own and quietly disappear. Kennedy was the only bright spot and was added when management saw the writing on the wall after only a couple of months of Suits going it solo at first.

I don't listen to Suits or "Kennedy" and Suits. I'm a Zig fan. I was really sad and angry over all that mess with Kobylt and Zig. Kobylt couldn't handle being challenged by Zig.

(I'm new here. This is my first post. I'm glad to find a place to air my thoughts about talk radio and KFI in particular!)

I am also a Zig fan, but I did enjoy Kennedy and Suits together. I did not listen to many shows where either one of them went solo.

Kennedy does the morning show live? You could have fooled me! If any show in town sounds tracked, it's that one. And she doesn't sound like she's having that much fun laying down those tracks either.

But then again, who IS having fun in radio these days?

This is just horrible news, Kennedy brought some stability and a direction to a show that needed resuscitation between each stumbling uhh, ahh, and errr by Suits. His weekend show is a sharp contrast to the weeknight disaster because when he actually has some knowledge about a topic, he can speak with confidence rather than stumble around like a 4th grader. I echo the sentiment here, Zig might have rocked the KFI boat, but he could put together a compelling show with the best of them.

I thought Zig was a nut but you know what he did put on a good show and I emailed him several times and he was nice enough to email back. Which goes to prove that you may be a nut or have a screw loose but as long as you put on an entertaining show then nothing else matters.

That is certainly something Handel has mastered as well as John and Ken and hence their enduring success. Too many talk show hosts (ala Larry Elder) totally missed the point that you need to be entertaining. In my opinion Handel is the best.

I listened to her "morning show" on 98-7 a few weeks ago and it's not even a morning show. She does headlines about once an hour and the rest of the time, it's just music with the occasional liner and tons of commercials. She should just return to the Suits show. They should get Joe Escalante from Indie 103.1 to host mornings on 98-7. That would definitely get me to listen to 98-7 again.

Well, if her morning show is voice-tracked, then CC must have made the KFI change for budgetary reasons. Suits doesn't seem to be up to the solo gig, and with Tim Conway jr racking up hours on the weekend, my GUESS is he will replace Suits on the evening shift sometime in the near future.

My vote is for any of the above. Ziegler is a nut, he probably admits to it, but his shows were compelling (Saul Levine screwed the pooch) as opposed to Suits. Coincidentally Joe Crummey was mentioned during the Handel 5 o'clock hour Thursday, but then so was Dr. Toni Grant.

I know, but it wouldn't happen, Joe actually seems to be devoted to the Indie online gig...plus I don't think KYSR would be willing to have his Friday legal show if it were not serious...I wonder if Tedd Roman would be up for the morning gig?

Brian Whitman and his neuroses have all ready burned that bridge with KFI. He's a liability to any station that hires him. I didn't particularly like him with Conway compared to Steckler.

I too would like to hear the return of Joe-J-J-Joe's Crummey Show

Resnick is horrible. I have no idea how that whiney bitch gets air time.

Phil Hendrie would be my choice. But I doubt he would go back to KFI.

His "Dark Secret Place" on Sundays is great. But the weekday show is much better with Kennedy. We'll see what happens. I wonder if they bring in another co-host...?

I second the vote for Joe Crummey. I loved those early days of KFI with crummey, leykis. I also agree that Wayne Resnik is horrible and I really am surprised that he has lasted this long. I'm sure he is a nice guy but I'd rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than his nasal whiny speaking style.

I've been really enjoying Conway. As my 14-year-old observed the other day, "He's really sarcastic. Just like you, Dad."

Wayne Resnick is a team player that's ready and willing to fill in on a moment's notice. IIRC he has a day job whichhas allowed him to be flexible over the years. While he's not my cup of tea, he's much better than most and works hard to be entertaining (and just misses).

Suits is a snooze.

Zigler's crazy.
Whitman's talented, but far too unstable.
Crummey may not be available. . and I preferred the fun Joe rather than the current right wing Joe.
Hendrie may not be available - - or welcome.

Slap the old letters on Mr. KABC and get Marc Germain back on the air where he belongs. The guy's an interesting and engaging broadcaster.
